Duane Lester Need Another Reason to Homeschool? 11 Year Old Public School Girl Forced to Draw Ejaculating Penis
(Read WP posts from Duane Lester) | (Read MT posts from Duane Lester) | rss

In the video below you will see the mother of a Massachusetts public school student, an 11 year old girl. The mother is testifying before the "Joint Education Committee in support of the David Parker Parents Rights Bill (H406 – written by MassResistance) and against the Planned Parenthood compulsory sex-ed / homosexuality / abortion counseling bill (H3434) – both of which would affect children in the public schools."

The mother describes her daughter coming home from school, being troubled by a homework assignment and discussing it with her. The assignment was to draw an erect, ejaculating penis.

The girl was 11. According to MassResistance, the sole response from the left leaning committee was to ask if the mother was informed of the content.

President Obama is on record telling Planned Parenthood that sex education should be taught as early as kindergarten, as long as it's "age appropriate."

So I guess to a liberal that means coloring ejaculating penises. I mean, their art skills aren't that of an 11 year old.

Yes, I think there would have been more than one parent & child to complain. I could be wrong though, but this is so bizarre it sounds phony.

So D-Vega, are we to believe that this is an elaborate hoax?

And President_Friedman, thanks for sharing. Nice to see that not all is dark.

And come to think of it, here's another story:

About a month ago our high school football tema was playing in another town, when one of our boys went in for a tackle with his head down and got his neck twisted up pretty bad. He could move but couldn't feel anything below his neck for awhile afterwards, and the paramedics opted to call in a mediflight chopper rather than risk moving him in the ambulance(it was about a 45 minute ride to a hospital, one of the joys of rural life).

The game was delayed while waiting for the helicopter to arrive, and during this delay the players from the other team walked across the field and asked the our players to meet them on the 50 yard line and say a prayer for the injured player. After that, they sent one of the players up into the stands to ask a local minister if he would lead the crowd in a prayer for the injured kid over the loudspeaker, which he did.

I'm not a Christian, but I was pretty touched by the display of faith, and thankful to live in an area where such public displays are not against school policy (or, if they are against policy, at least get generally ignored at times like this).

Anyway, kudos to the players and people from Comanche, OK for showing such civility during a highly competitive football game. Good sportsmanship is hard to come by these days.

The best part is, the kid turned out to be OK.

I actually have a positive story about public schools.

A few weeks ago, my 8-year-old daughter came home after school upset because as she was leaving class, she pulled her sunglasses out of her backpack, and a boy in her class asked if he could see them. She handed them to him and then he broke them in half, just because he was, well, being a little boy.

I told her to go in the next morning and tell her teacher that her daddy said that boy owes her a pair of sunglasses. Not only did the teacher address it, but they took the boy down to the principals office where he was made to apologize, recieved three swats with a paddle, and then told to replace her sunglasses by the end of the week or else face suspension from school.

I called the principal and the boys parents and said not to worry about replacing the sunglasses, because I thought the problem had been adequately addressed. Her and the kid have been getting along fine since then.

I'm sure I probably live in one of the last school districts in the country where something like that could happen, but as a parent I feel much better sending my kid to school there knowing that the teachers and administration have some leeway to enforce discipline in the classroom.
  • I'm sorry. But this story sounds like a crock of crap.

Denial. Not just a river in Egypt.

They forced an 11 year old girl to draw a picture of Obama giving a Press Conference?

    The horrors, The Horrors!

I shouldn't be so dismissive then, but this would indeed be outrageous if it occured. This is not what is meant by age-appropriate and someone should be fired for it.
  • gfchicago
I'm just thankful that I don't have any kids, so I don't have to worry about the appalling school system that this country has.

Nothing in today's society would surprise me D-Vega. Everything is upside down now days every morning when I wake up I think that I'm living in bizzaro world and I would not doubt that this actually occurred. Particularly since we see stories of this nature almost everyday in the newscasts.

I'm sorry. But this story sounds like a crock of crap.
