Donald Douglas Obama: ‘Health Care Most Important Legislation Since Social Security Act’
(Read WP posts from Donald Douglas) | (Read MT posts from Donald Douglas) | rss

Okay. Right.

At ABC News, "
Obama: Health Care Bill Would Be Most Important Legislation Since Social Security Act" (via):

President Obama praised the Senate's 60-39 passage of the $871 billion health care overhaul bill despite the fact that not a single Republican voted in favor following 24 consecutive days of often bitter debate and deep partisanship.

"This will be the most important piece of social legislation since the Social Security Act passed in the 1930's and the most important reform of our health care system since Medicare passed in the 1960's," said Obama, before leaving for his Christmas vacation in Hawaii, which he delayed until Senate passed the health care bill.

The president also hailed the legislation as the "largest deficit-reduction plan in over a decade," and added that he looks forward to working with both chambers of Congress "over the coming weeks" to bring a final bill to his desk.

All 58 Democrats and two independents voted for the health care bill, as expected, without any Republican support. Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky, who is retiring at the end of his term, was the lone Republican who did not vote.

In a celebratory press conference, jubilant Democratic leaders invoked the memory of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, whose wife Vicki watched the vote from the Senate gallery.

"This is a victory for the American people," Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said. "This morning's vote brings us one step closer to making Ted Kennedy's dream a reality."
Well, Dems better enjoy the partisan good times while they last. A reckoning is coming. See, "Voters Are Unhappy With the Economy, and Don't Think Obama Has Helped."

And about that deficit reduction, see Weasel Zippers, "

Dan Riehl's
fed up with the lies, "This is getting surreal. He either deserves to be called a liar straight out, or a clueless dilettante who really doesn't understand how dangerous he is."

I can only warn the politicians in power that we are not blind to what they are doing. We have said dont do it, yet they dont listen. So its only fair that we wont be listening to them when it comes to their protection and care.

Well. Don't you realize that 10,000 people are dying every day due to lack of health care?

    We have to "do something".

So, let's pass a bill that won't give any of those 10,000 daily dyers(?) anything for at least 5 years. There. Fixed.

    /sarc

What a buncha idiots. They won't put them self into this plan? Well, I don't think that is going to stand. If WE are forced into this piece of merde, then so will Congress and Each and Every Government Employee. Federal. State. County. City, village and town.
There is no way 'they' will get us to pay for them to have 'cadillac' services while the people footing the bill get Pinto level .... At least if I have any say.

Great Essay that exposes the shady scam that is CrappyCare!:

    http://andrews.blogtownhall.co...imple_question...

“So, how do the Democrats, with a straight face, say our government will go bankrupt due to health care costs, unless we pass their plan, when their plan COSTS MORE? If we can’t afford medicare now, how do we afford it when we have more people? And how is an admitted trillion dollar expense, saving money? Especially when we know a trillion dollars in “government money” is like a year in “dog years”, probably 10 trillion or more. Add to that the fact that the government, which says people can’t afford insurance, is making people buy the insurance they say they can’t afford. Oh, they will subsidize some, but only by taxing the rest, who they say were going bankrupt anyway.”

Does any of this make sense?

I know the left was famous for thinking we could spend our way into prosperity, claiming taking money from business and pouring it down government sinkholes would make us rich, but this is just so absurd I don’t think anyone could believe it. If we are going bankrupt from health care costs, how does paying more stop that?

Unless, of course, they really plan to use this as a first step to outright nationalization, followed by rationing and denial of services. Then I suppose it makes perfect sense.”

Simple explaination really – they are arrogant elitest who feel that any means/methods justify their end game of creating a socialist utopia “for your own good”.

In short, they are liars and fools!

All this "static" and FAKE opposition by groups like this is a disinformation campaign by the left....

It wants to fool the public into thinking this is a "watered down" bill when its a complete government takeover in all but name!

Second, they want to place the seeds in everyone's mind that when their plan implodes (and make no mistake - it designed to do that) its due to the "greed" of the "evil" insurance companies and the "failure of freedom/free markets"....when in fact its their de facto takeover scheme/government intervention that effectively ended the free market!

But dont take my word for it, check out what the wonders of this same scheme has done in ME - in a few short years, the state went from 21 to 2 insurance companies and costs have soared!

Gee, CNN felt the need to have Campbell Brown Cow do a special today on "Can the United States Remain a Superpower?"

Interesting question to ask, the very same the Democrats just consigned our nation to fiscal third world status. But I thought President Spock was our Greatest President Evah, we have the world on our side now, and blowing multitrillion dollar deficits for years to come was just the best way to ensure the skies are blue and clear and sunny forever???
  • tblrk2006
Yet the same real number of people without insurance are still going to be without.

Isn't it really hilarious how Obama goes about allegedly expanding health insurance coverage?

"What, the people don't have insurance? Well, force them to buy it, then!"

It reminds me of an old Smothers Brothers sketch:

First Mate: Sir, the Men haven't eaten in days!

    Columbus: What?

First Mate: The men! The men!! The men haven't eaten in days!

An Angry Columbus: Well, Force Them!

Yeah, one might almost say this legislation is "unprecedented."

You're going down, Obama - and your whole rotten, stinking corpse of a Democratic Party with you come November.
