Snopes LIED – Fact Checking Website BUSTED, Trying To Cover For Obama…

There are a number of sites I shy away from out there. Two of the biggest are Snopes and Politifact. They are Progressive propaganda outlets that skew facts and outright lie a great deal of the time. They basically pretend to be reputable fact-checkers, but in reality exist to bash conservatives whenever possible. Their latest is mind blowing. They rushed to aid Obama in defending his legacy on the Iran hostages scandal. You know, the one where he paid $400 Million of tax payer money to the Iranians to get back four hostages. And he just forgot to tell us, that’s all. America has always had the policy that we do not pay ransom to get people back. We go in and take them back, aggressively and without permission, thank you. Not anymore… Obama grovels before the Mullahs of Iran and gives them $400 Million… I contend not specifically as ransom, that is a cover. It is a pretend old debt from the late 70’s that they claim we owe them. Obama solved that little problem, didn’t he?

From The Federalist Papers Project:

The “mythbusting” site Snopes has again turned their myopic eyes to the political world and are rushing to the defense of the Obama Administration in what is being called a “cash for hostages” deal.

What’s amazing is the lengths they will go to in protecting Barack Obama, ignoring key facts and presenting the issue as “old news.”

“[T]he money transfer was the result of a settlement of a long-standing claim at the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal in The Hague around the same time that the prisoners were released.  The Tribunal was created specifically to deal with diplomatic relations between Iran and the United States.”

Snopes spends most of the article rehashing points that nobody disputes – the story was covered before, the money was owed to Iran, blah, blah, blah.

The point is that Snopes is conveniently glossing over the most salient and important news item to come out of the initial story: that Iran demanded the money in exchange for the hostages and that Iranian officials call the money a “ransom payment.”

Snopes needs to go back to debunking claims of the Loch Ness Monster, Elvis and Hitler and stop playing with the big boys.

Even Iran is publicly calling it ‘ransom’. But Snopes says don’t believe your own eyes and ears, believe them. Uh, no. One of the prisoners said they were taken to the airport and forced to wait overnight until the plane arrived with the American ransom money. Then they were flown out of there. Sounds like ransom to me, but Obama’s spokeshole claims it is a coincidence. Not buying it. We never owed Iran in the first place and we sure as hell shouldn’t have given them the massive amounts of money in the Iran nuke deal either. I’ll say it one more time… if Obama were batting for the other side (that being Iran), would he be doing a damned thing differently? Exactly.
