From Conservative Tribune:

On Friday night, the Parkway High School football team in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, played host to the team from Captain Shreve High School. The game also hosted a number of Korean War and World War II veterans, welcomed on the sidelines by Parkway’s Air Force Junior ROTC staff and cadets.

The veterans, who had served in the Army, Air Force (Army Air Corps) and Navy, were all residents of nearby Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City and were thoroughly enjoying the game and the honor they were receiving from the local community.

However, according to KSLA, one of the players did something to the veterans that temporarily brought the game to a halt and is now gaining quite a bit of attention.

As halftime ended and the players streamed back onto the field, one player for Parkway broke away from the crowd and headed straight for the sidelines and the line of veterans waiting to watch the second half.

Number 83 Chase Hill ran right up to the veterans and began to make his way down the row of them, shaking each individual’s hand as a way to say thanks and show his appreciation.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office captured the moment on camera and shared it to their Facebook page, where it received quite a few “likes,” shares and comments.

Dep. Tony Pesson of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office is also a veteran of the Air Force for 25 years. Quite the honor for him to help with these WWII heroes.

This young man clearly understood that the freedom and liberty he enjoys was bought and paid for by the men and women who served in our nation’s wars, and his actions to express his gratitude toward those veterans are worthy of recognition.

We need more people like him in America.
