VIDEO: Heroic Family Dog Takes Multiple Rattlesnake Bites To Save 7 Yr-Old, Now He’s…

Molly DeLuca is one lucky little 7 year-old. Her beloved German Shepard, Haus, probably saved her life. He loves that little girl more than his own life and proved it last week. He took multiple bites from a rattlesnake defending the child. No wonder they call him the perfect dog. Now he’s fighting for his own life and to stay with his beloved Molly. She was in the backyard with her grandma when Haus started jumping back and going forward attacking the snake that had its bite aimed at Molly. With no thought for himself, Haus took on the rattlesnake and now he fights to hang on.

Dog

From Fox 13:

His owners call him the perfect dog. Haus is a 2-year-old German Shepard, and usually 68 pounds of loyalty and love, especially when it comes to his 7-year-old, Molly DeLuca. After Haus possibly saved Molly’s life, he’s fighting for his own against deadly rattlesnake venom.

“The bond that they have created in a short time has been unbelievable,” Molly’s mother, Donya DeLuca said.

Wednesday afternoon, DeLuca said Molly was in the back yard with her grandma and Haus.

“She saw him jump back, and go forward, and jump back and go forward,” described DeLuca. “He was just, kind of, holding his ground.”

Haus took the bites and cried… he limped over to Molly and her grandma rushed him to the vet. He took at least three painful bites. Haus’ health is still touch-and-go. The snake managed to inject Haus with so much venom, vets were giving him a steady drip of antivenin, instead of the more typical one or two doses. This all happened in Tampa, Florida. The snake that bit him was a diamondback rattlesnake. Haus is in intensive care right now. According to WFLA, Haus went behind the family’s pool in Tampa to retrieve his toys Wednesday when Donya DeLuca heard screams from her young daughter Molly. The dog didn’t budge at all. He’s 2 years-old, so he has a better chance of surviving. “He had every opportunity to run, and he didn’t,” DeLuca told WFLA. “He was protecting Molly, and my mother I think.” “We love him and we cherish him, but I feel indebted that he saved our daughter,” DeLuca told WFLA. My prayers are with Haus – he’s a true hero and there is no more loyal soul than a dog. Bless his heart.
