Gun Sales Surge, Violent Crime Drops
Its hard to find any optimism with the healthcare disaster so close to being a reality, but glimmers of hope do exist. Democrats are actually pinning their hopes for the midterm on this unpopular healthcare bill. The rest of their strategy is to continue to blame Bush. That my liberal friends are actually celebrating this based off one modest bump in a CNN poll brings the optimism up another notch. Meanwhile the other half of liberals are making lists …

Breaking: Obama’s Safe Schools Czar’s Question to 14 Year Olds: “Spit vs. Swallow?… Is it Rude?” (audio-video)
6 Dec 2009
12:49 am
Breaking extension to earlier post! Via Gateway Pundit!
Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings founded the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Recently he was appointed by the Obama administration to run the Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools in the US Department of Education. In 2007 Kevin Jennings was paid $273,573.96 as the executive director of GLSEN.
In 2000 GLSEN held an anniversary conference. From the content of the workshops it was clear that the organization was not so much about tolerance as it was about teaching …

Kevin Jennings Safe School Czar GLSEN Suggested Child Porn Reading List for Students
6 Dec 2009
12:25 am
by Maggie at Maggie’s Notebook and Stop the ACLU:
Kevin Jennings, Barack Obama’s failed “safe school czar” has a recommended reading list for children of all ages. What has been revealed is sick and perverted, and until you read this, you simply cannot image what Jennings recommends as appropriate for school children in this country. I implore you to read and pass it around. Contact Congress, your schools and specifically the White House.

ACLU Still Fighting Christmas
29 Nov 2009

Crossposted from STACLU:
The ACLU continues its tradition of being Scrooge to Christian free speech during the Christmas season:
The ACLU sent a letter dated Nov. 11 asking the city to “end the unlawful endorsement of religion,” claiming that the city paid for animals used in a Nativity scene. The letter accused the city of violating the First Amendment.
In the letter, the ACLU claimed the city paid $200 for animals used in a Nativity scene co-sponsored by Grace Church of the Nazarene.
Piper confirmed the city spent the money two years ago — …

Role of ACLU Decisive in Moving KSM Trial to New York

Originally written for PJM:

Eric Holder called his decision to try the suspected plotters of 9/11 in New York City “the toughest decision I’ve had to make as attorney general.” It was unarguably the most controversial one. In my opinion, it was also the stupidest one. The decision has rightly received plenty of criticism, but what has not been talked about is the months of lobbying behind closed doors that made this happen. Meanwhile, one of the major players responsible for pushing this is popping the cork and cheering …

ACLU Protecting The Right to Flip Off Cops for $40K from Taxpayers

I really just wanted an excuse to use the photo above:
Hackbart says that he was attempting to parallel park in April 2006 when he used his middle finger “to express his frustration” at a driver who pulled behind him and blocked his entry into the space.
Upon hearing a voice instruct him not to “flip off” the driver, he “directed his middle finger at the person speaking,” according to the lawsuit. That person turned out to be Sgt. Brian Elledge of the Pittsburgh Police Department.
Elledge ordered Hackbart …

- Education is key, and not just for our children. To that end, we will be conducting a series of conventions. These will be full-day experiences where you will be immersed in learning about topics ranging from self-reliance, community organizing, the economy and how to be a political force in your own neighborhood and country. The first one will be in Orlando at UCF Arena on March 27th…
- All of the above will culminate in The Plan, a book that will provide …

Flashback: Obama Wants Military Tribunals for KSM
14 Nov 2009

This is pretty much obligatory, cuz its everywhere else. I’d hate to be the only blog that doesn’t have this video. While the ACLU pops the cork, do you think public outrage will be enough that we will see a walk back on this?

ACLU pops corks with Al Qaeda as Obamanable Admin gives “shout out” KSM

Much has been written over the past 24 hours that does well to explain why the Obama Regime’s despicable decision to bestow unprecedented constitutional protections on those whose only connection to America is that they have directed the incineration of thousands of our innocent countrymen or worked not quite as “successfully” for the same or worse. So, I can’t really add much of substance in commenting on the news itself.
A sampling of those from Jay’s post from last night: Smack Down of Obama Administration …

ACLU: That Fishy Email Thing Ain’t No Big Deal
9 Aug 2009
5:15 pm
You just have to trust Barry, cause he is just so cute and fuzzy!
The ACLU said in a statement to FOXNews.com that the White House blog is a “bad idea that could send a troublesome message.”
But the organization added, “While it is unclear at this point what the government is doing with the information it is collecting, critics of the administration’s health care proposal should not fear that their names will end up in some government database that could be used to chill their right to free speech.”

Running Low on Political Capital, Obama in a Rush to Pass Socialist Medicine
19 Jul 2009

Here is the problem with hope and change. If you throw around empty phrases like this, and build people’s hopes up with high expectations and utopian ideals, things can only go in one direction…anti-climax. This is especially true if the utiopian ideals are built on a platform of flawed logic. Socialism sounds good to people’s hearts, but human nature will never allow it to succeed. Every proposal of “change” Obama is proposing has been built from a foundation of socialist ideas. …

ADF: What’s LEFT of the Constitution (March for Life Edition)

Written by Greg Scott, crossposted from Stop the ACLU:
“What’s Left of the Constitution?” is a periodic news digest featuring Alliance Defense Fund legal analysis of proposals, policies, and trends advanced by the federal government. On a regular basis, this digest specifically highlights policies and actions that move America away from the principles of the U.S. Constitution and closer to the demands of the political Left, especially ones that threaten religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and the family.
The inaugural parties and celebrations are over, and now the …

Video: UFO Spotted at Obama Inauguration

Watch the video carefully. I completely agree with the commentator. It most definitely is NOT a bird. Could it be a plane? Superman? Flying sea monkeys? An ant zipping across the camera lens? Whatever it is…it’s definitely much smaller than the Washington monument, since we see it go in front of it….however bigger than a bird since we still see it behind the trees. It is for sure an unidentified flying object. Definitely, I must conclude it is alien invaders that have infiltrated …

Here’s one of those “I agree with the ACLU” stories, that occur around 1% of the time: ACLU protests force-feeding Guantanamo prisoners
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) wrote a letter to US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates Friday protesting the “inhumane and unlawful practice” of force-feeding hunger strikers at Guantanamo Bay prison.
“I am writing to bring your attention to the cruel, inhuman, degrading and unlawful treatment of the thirty hunger striking detainees currently held at the Guantánamo Bay detention facility,” wrote ACLU …

Harry Reid Told Blagojevich Not to Appoint Jesse Jackson Jr., and Other Blacks
4 Jan 2009

Not just Jackson though…he also urged against Rep. Danny Davis and State Sen. Emil Jones. All of these individuals just so happen to be black. However, Dingy Harry put his stamp of approval on Tammy Duckworth or Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. These two individuals just so happen to not be white. If this would have been a Republican there would be scandal, but of course we know its only coincidence since its a leading Democrat.
Days before Gov. Blagojevich was charged with trying to sell President-elect …
