Barry Claims His Plan Would Bring Down Premiums By 3,000%
Written By : William Teach

No, that is not a typo in the headline. I seriously doubt that The Smartest Man In The World Ever!!!!!! meant to say 3,000. I Blame Bush. Or Secretary Teleprompter. Just image had Bush made this claim, even by accident

Now, so let me talk about the third thing, which is my proposal would bring down the cost of health care for families, for businesses, and for the federal government.

So Americans buying comparable coverage to what they have today — I already said this — would see premiums fall by 14 to 20 percent — that’s not my numbers, that’s what the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says — for Americans who get their insurance through the workplace.

How many people are getting insurance through their jobs right now?

Raise your hands.

All right. Well, a lot of those folks, your employer it’s estimated would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent [sic], which means they could give you a raise.

(Applause.)

And probably quite a few people giving those types of tentative claps accompanied by the thought “WTF did he just say?”

Also, I wonder if The Smartest Man In The World Ever!!!!!! understands the difference in the cost of health care and health insurance. Based on that little exchange, I’d say not.

Wait. So does that mean that he’s saying health CARE costs would fall or that health INSURANCE prices would be artificially reduced? Because if it’s just the latter without any reduction to the real price of the former, wouldn’t that bankrupt any insurance company caught up in such a scheme?

What more is there to say then this about CrappyCare aka ObamaCare/WillardCare:

    http://spectator.org/blog/2010/03/16/romneycare-bankrupting-massach

“Massachusetts, Obamacare Will Do the Same Nationally
    By W. James Antle, III on 3.16.10 @ 4:36PM

Massachusetts Treasurer Tim Cahill, who is running for governor as an independent this year, has come out swinging against the Democratic health care bill based on a similar experiment in Massachusetts. Yesterday Obama adviser David Axelrod cited “Masscare” as a model for Obamacare.

That’s exactly the problem, says Cahill. He told CNBC that such a plan would “wipe out the American economy within four years.” He was quoted by the Boston Globe as saying, “It is time for the president, the Democratic leadership, to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new plan that does not threaten to bankrupt this country.”

Of course the Democrats know this will implode the HC system – that the intent, create govt dependency and control and thus perpetual power.

    It’s OVER THREE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNND!

Where’s Jacqui to defend his lover, Mr. Obama? I’m expecting some quality agitprop from the little laddie on this.

  • William Teach

It was probably raaaaacist for me to even mention Barry’s gaffe. I hope it was a gaffe. Because if he means it, well, he is more incredibly clueless then we thought.

  • http://conservativebootcamp.com martinhale

No, you were right to highlight it. I’m relatively sure it was a gaffe, but, as surely as I’m sitting here, it would have been worthy of a headline had it been a conservative who said it.

But really, even if it was probably just one of his stupid underlings who mis-typed the number into the TOTUS, you’d expect an agile thinker, a “thinks on his feet” speaker, to reject a percentage that high out of hand, just based on common sense. I think most people understand that 100% is the entirety of whatever is under discussion, don’t they?

Maybe it’s because I work with numbers and percentages on a daily basis, but when I see percentages over 100%, my immediate reaction is to start looking for the error. If I saw a figure of 3000%, I’d be immediately suspicious simply because 3000% represents the entirety of whatever is being described, magnified by a factor of 30! There aren’t many economic things that change by a factor of 30 all at once.

  • BIG

And Obamacare will help people in all 57 states!

What I don’t understand is if they are going to add 30 million to the insurance rolls and not add any doctors, where are those 30 million and the rest of us going to go for this wonderful healthcare? And when I read that 30% of the doctors will simply quit if this passes, I just don’t understand how anyone thinks the quality of care can possibly improve???

  • Mike_M

Obama supposedly meant to say “$3000″, which is nonsense as well. That figure came from the Business Roundtable…a supposedly “conservative” corporate organization that seems to support just about every liberal big government initiative out there.

Of course the CBO disagrees, saying that premiums will keep rising under Obamacare and the only way the price will actually go down is through government tax credits and subsidies. The reason the taxes start now and the health care starts in three years. Of course the whole thing is completely unsustainable and will bankrupt the country soon after the whole program kicks in.

This debate has gone from farce to embarassment. Obama clearly has no idea what he’s talking about and is just throwing out whatever numbers roll across his teleprompter. I doubt he even knows what Congress is voting on anymore. Hillarycare collapsed but was at least somewhat dignifed. This is just a joke.

  • StanInTexas

I think a more important point here is what happened after the Idiot-in-Chief promised to reduce insurance premiums by 3000%. HE GOT APPLAUSE!

Obama could say or do ANYTHING, and his mindless sychophants would cheer and wave and faint and cry and follow him anywhere.

To paraphrase Obi-wan Kenobi… “Who is the bigger fool, the fool or the ones that VOTE for the fool?”

True Stan. Government schools at work.

What’s worse is WHEN (not if) the plan fails his minions will be happy to bend over and grab their ankles screaming, “Thank you sir, may I have another?”

The left knows that this plan will fail. Just like any other government plan they’ll “fix” the problem with more funding.

  • Jack Schite

I’ll bet Bush made more gaffes in one speach than Obama has made in his entire presidency.

So it was a slip of the tongue, what do you care? You have no desire to improve things because you don’t think there’s a problem, and you don’t gave the mental capacity as a party to propose any significant improvements.

Ultimately you want the country to suffer because a successful result

  • DrEvil

You mean I won’t be getting a $2000/week raise once my employer’s health insurance costs are reduced by 3,000%?

    What a dufus.

    Have an Evil day

  • Jack Schite

with health care reform will delegate your party to the scrap heap of history.

When Bush lied about wmds in Iraq the dems had no choice but believe him because he had…how did the British put it?….manipulated the intelligence. Now with health care the truth is put there so republicans make up lies, absolute lies, about government take overs and death panels.

Change is coming, and the country hopes republicans will get out of the way once and for all.

Here is an interesting survey of doctors on how they feel about Obamacare.

We are screwed if this passes.

No one blamed bush for obama’s gaffe you nimrods. Obama makes one misstatemente and you think it’s funny, while the lest president, the one you like, was pretty much a walking joke.

And you want to talk lies? No tax increases on the middle class? Transparency? No lobbiest in his administration?

You and you ilk slammed Bush for mispronouncing Nuclear and had to make up things he said to call him a liar. With Obama, we can use White house Press releases to show what an abject liar Obama is, AND YOU DON’T CARE!

Thanks for posting the poll results. Of course physicians “feelings” on the matter have little validity in a poll taken by a physician search firm that doesn’t bother to post how many physicians were polled for this study.

RWN Fact: A Liberal will got to any length to dispute a poll that does not reinforce their already-made-up mind. But they will blindly and unquestioningly believe a poll that justifies their prejudices.

    Good example, Jack!

  • Jack Schite

On the phone with medicus now asking how many physicians participated in the survey.

    Long time on hold.

    Asantiago@medicusfirm.com can tell me, apparently

This will be passed with more votes than the Bush tax cuts received. Darth Cheney cast the tie breaker on that mistake.

Yes, because allowing Americans to keep the money they earn, and not have it stolen by the government at the point of a gun, is now know in Jacky-Land as “a mistake”!

Hang up the phone, Jacky. Mommy says it is your nap-nap time!

“This will be passed with more votes than the Bush tax cuts received. Darth Cheney cast the tie breaker on that mistake.”

Yes, we know how rabidly opposed Democrats are to letting people keep their own money. Always a good opportunity to remind everybody that Democrats are always for higher taxes and less freedom.

Exactly why Democrats support ObamaCare; a plan that will take tax money NOW, but will provide no coverage until 2014.

It’s all about the tax money. PERIOD!

  • Smithwick

    He can do that? Sweet.

Next up: unemployment to drop by 100,000% and the deficit will by cut by eleventy billion%.

Good thing we stopped teaching math in this country or people might complain.

More gaffes from Jacqui while trying to divert attention away from the *ss he’s had his lips locked onto since he blew in here.

You funny Jacqui; you funny – ‘specially when you spinning so hard.

  • http://conservativebootcamp.com martinhale

The survey, which was conducted by the Medicus Firm, a leading physician search and consulting firm based in Atlanta and Dallas, found that a majority of physicians said health-care reform would cause the quality of American medical care to “deteriorate” and it could be the “final straw” that sends a sizeable number of doctors out of medicine.

More than 29 percent (29.2) percent of the nearly 1,200 doctors who responded to the survey said they would quit the profession or retire early if health reform legislation becomes law. If a public option were included in the legislation, as several liberal Senators have indicated they would like, the number would jump to 45.7 percent.

Jacqui, you such a toothless tiger. I found this information in the seven or eight minutes which elapsed since my last post.

  • Smithwick

Jack, buddy, you seem to have fallen for your sides own propaganda. Yes we all know the line “barack is the greatest public speaker in the history of ever, his sweet voice will bring us out of depression, win the war, and make the world love us again”. Basically he’s morgan freeman. Got it.

But you aren’t supposed to actually believe any of that. Parrot it endlessly yes, try to force others to believe it, sure. But the best propagandists don’t actually believe their own lies.
