FOX v White House: The Results Are In
Written By : McQ

Or at least the results since the Obama White House made FOX News the focus of its attempt at dictating which organizations should or shouldn’t be taken as serious “news” organizations:

But the White House’s stance also gave extra lift to the network at a time when it is on track to record its best ratings year ever. This year, Fox News has averaged nearly 1.2 million viewers across all its programming, a 16% increase over the same period last year, according to Nielsen. In the two weeks since aides to President Obama took after the coverage, the audience has been 8% larger than the previous two weeks.

If anything, the Obama administration has succeeded in reinforcing Fox News’ identity as a thorn in the side of the establishment — a role the network loves to play.

What news organization wouldn’t love to play that role? Er, the NYT, LAT, WaPo, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and CNN?

Maybe this is a little lesson for them as well.

Odd, those others wanted that role when there was some else in the White House.

I always thought that was the role no matter who was in the White House.

This was as expected as the sun rising tomorrow. Quick lesson to the WH "advisors" and "leader" – the old adage in the PR biz is pretty clear in it's advice – there's no such thing as bad publicity. By going after Fox at all those different venues, Mr. Obama and company did them the service of providing them with name recognition advertising in sectors of the media-sphere where they themselves don't advertise. Bonus!

No need for those organizations to worry. They will be part of the next stimulus while FOX will be left out. They will make more money that way than by actually being news organizations. Then they can all just go by the name Pravda.

No one would complain about fox if it had made it its mission to bring down Bush like it's trying to do to Obama. It's not covering Obama, it's looking for any situation it can blow out of proportion to defeat his goals, a defeat that will harm the country.

F ratings. Fox is shit, not the shit.

    "Dissent is patriotic", Hillary Clinton.

Jack, care to comment on 10% unemployment (17% in real life) and Obama's tripling of the deficit and destruction of the value of the dollar?

  • MediumHeadBoy

Oh, come now, Dick, you know Mr. Off has no idea that such things even exist.

Unfortunately, for you, it is covering obama. The stink coming off your golfer in cheif is so nasty that your head is far away from the truth and reality. I dont blame you, if I voted for that guy id be in la la land too just trying to distance myself from his work.

There is proof that many of the people watching Fox do so for their reporting. When Michael Jackson died and all the news networks, including Fox, chose to cover him instead of covering news, Fox got clobbered in the ratings. When Fox went back to reporting the news, their ratings recovered quickly.

Jack Auf, you are the brainless, pig-ignorant, SOB and POS to post here in ages.

Those ratings you are calling worthless are good indication that the public is sick and tired of being lied to by the likes of Dan Rather, Walter Kronkite(it goes back that far), and Chris Matthews. It's also a good indicator that people are seeing the bias in the other networks, and are moving towards a bias that better suits their philosophy.

But that doesn't look good for libtards like you, so you try to downplay what this shift means. Welcome to the real world dumbass. Don't get bit.

I know you might like to think that, but it was still your alphabet news organizations that made up stories about bush and continually lied about him trying to bring him down and influence elections. So far you are only managing to bitch about the truth and reality that surround obamature.

Yeah, and Obama, the Dems, and the liberal media are having their faces rubbed in it.

Deal with it, crybaby. Looks like all that arrogant triumphalism is fading quickly in the face of President Fail.

At this point, we could probably fit you and all the other CNN viewers into a single small (padded) room so you can chant that at each other to your hearts' content.

Fox is not trying to bring down Obama. They are reporting what is happening. Did they mastermind the Jennings story? Or the Tea Parties? No, they merely reported them – something the 'other' News Media refused to do. So tell me, is it Fox trying to bring Obama down, or the MSM trying to prop him up? Hmmmm? I would bring your attention to the fact that the WH started their childish foot stomping about Fox after the MSM took a beating for failing to report the stories that hurt Obama and got scooped by Fox.

Second point – Considering Obama's goals are blindingly obvious by now, the only way that defeating them will hurt this country is if you believe our country should become communist. Since you are a commie, no surprise you think it will hurt to see Obama's vision go crashing down in flames.

Third point (how did you cram so much inanity in such a short message?)- If you want examples of media trying to bring down a President, look at your liberal News Media and what they did to Bush day in and day out fro 8 years. Hell, they even started off by trying to influence the 2000 election in some of the most unethical practices I had seen to that point. Then, in the 08 election, your liberal media really showed their ass when they became unhinged over Palin. Since then they have become a laughable collective of leg-tinglers blindly rooting for their "God" Obama. I understand you are getting all bent as you realize the majority of people are sick of the bias in your liberal media – hence the fact that Fox is trouncing them.

Keep whining about Fox all you want – it just makes you look more ridiculous than you already are.

It's not covering Obama, it's looking for any situation it can blow out of proportion to defeat his goals

Everyone note that this is the best the liberal can come up with in trying to slander Fox News – the official enemy of the State. Meanwhile, we can easily point to MSM attempts to literally take down a sitting President with forged documents.

  • Bill_Dalasio

It's not covering Obama, it's looking for any situation it can blow out of proportion to defeat his goals….

And based on his behavior, I can only assume that Mr. Obama is in on the nefarious plot. After all, he gives them so much material.

Historically the role of the press was to be the thorn in the side of those in power. It was typical of the press to dig into stories that the powers that be didn't like, to topple the pompous, expose the corrupt, and question the powerful. They considered those in office the enemy, or at least suspicious. That's largely why the news has been called the "4th estate" in America: because it is an additional check and balance on the existing three branches of federal government.

Not any longer, except for a few lonely voices which the left hates with shrill terror and the white house is trying to isolate and destroy because the only playbook they know is the Ayers-based community organizer playbook.
