Obama To Trot Out More Bribes And Empty Promises During SOTU 2010

He feels your pain. And, by “he,” I mean it will all be about Obama pandering, lying, and bribing the middle class as he talks about himself. Because it is all about Obama. You? You’re just a means to an end. I wonder if we need to get a good drinking game going for Tuesday night. Every time he says “I,” take a shot. The person who can make it halfway through the State Of The Union without passing out wins (not that anyone will be able to make it that far.) Anyhow

President Obama will propose[1] in his State of the Union address a package of modest initiatives intended to help middle-class families, including tax credits for child care, caps on some student loan payments and a requirement that companies let workers save automatically for retirement, senior administration officials said Sunday.

Hmm, I wonder if he will trot out his old, and broken, promise to make sure taxes do not go up one dime for those making under $250,000? Whatever happened to that tax check of $1,000 he promised[2] during the early part of the Neverending Campaign? Of course, as he makes all the empty promises on Tuesday night, remember that the Bush tax cuts that, despite the Liberal spin, reduced middle class taxes, are set to soon expire, and the Dems and Obama have made no move to keep at least parts of the legislation. Hint for GOP electa-critters: there’s a good talking point for the 2010 midterms.

By focusing on what one White House official calls “the sandwich generation” – struggling families squeezed between sending their children to college and caring for elderly parents – Mr. Obama hopes to use his speech on Wednesday to demonstrate that he understands the economic pain of ordinary Americans. The proposals also include expanded tax credits for retirement savings and money for programs to help families care for elderly relatives.

Again, this is simply a way to pander and lie to a certain group of people, and, we all know how Democrats like to put people in little groups, rather than thinking of them as individuals.

The address is still being written, but one senior official, describing it on the condition of anonymity, said its main themes would include “creating good jobs, addressing the deficit, helping the middle class and changing Washington.”

A tired old theme from the pre-election portion of the Neverending Campaign, proven to be nothing more than words that Obama will ignore. He had his chance with the Stimulus, and failed miserably. The massive deficit is something that Obama and the majority party since January 2007 created. Changing Washington? So far, Obama has done a great job at this, in the same way Hugo Chavez has changed Venezuela.

Mr. Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. plan to outline the proposals on Monday when they meet with the White House task force that has spent the past year examining ways to help the middle class.

You know what? At this point, STOP HELPING! Because you keep making things worse. Reauthorize the 2001/2003 tax cuts, ease up on all the regulations on private industry, and stop demonizing every private industry.

Expect the SOTU to be a nice mixture between bribes/pandering, blaming others (shotgun a beer every time he blames Bush), and going after private businesses.
