Obama: Yeah, I Kinda Lied About Health Care
Written By : William Teach

Time Magazine is stunned!

There’s been a remarkable amount of coverage of President Obama’s appearance at the House Republican retreat today, but I haven’t seen anyone focus on the President’s rather stunning admission about the Democrats’ health care legislation (Video):

And what is Time Magazine stunned about? This is what Obama remarked

The last thing I will say, though — let me say this about health care and the health care debate, because I think it also bears on a whole lot of other issues. If you look at the package that we’ve presented — and there’s some stray cats and dogs that got in there that we were eliminating, we were in the process of eliminating. For example, we said from the start that it was going to be important for us to be consistent in saying to people if you can have your — if you want to keep the health insurance you got, you can keep it, that you’re not going to have anybody getting in between you and your doctor in your decision making. And I think that some of the provisions that got snuck in might have violated that pledge. [emphasis added]

Isn’t the media wonderful? The folks who have been against this legislative abomination of a health system bill have been saying that the bill would damage your ability to keep your insurance and doctor since this started around 8 months ago. In terms of insurance, forcing individuals and companies to switch to federal government approved plans was rather part of the point of the House and Senate bills, in a move towards full government run health care. Not necessarily single payer, but, a step in that direction. But, Time Magazine is stunned that Obama and the Dems would violate the pledge, ie, lie.

Meanwhile, Obama lied some more during the lecture at the GOP retreat (wasn’t he supposed to be listening?) about his CSPAN pledge.

For a politician the ability to lie with a straight face and get the media to believe it is a feature, not a bug.

We need to change that ability back into a flaw. I say we re-legalize dueling, and see what that does for politicians lying through their teeth.

You know, if a private corporation makes false promises, you can sue them for restitution or release from your contract. If only that applied to politicians.

Excessive oratory. This trainwreck of a president can’t shut up. He doesn’t talk, he expounds. Talking requires active, thoughtful listening. Barry’s such a narcissist. The only way for him to hear something worthwhile is to listen to himself. Thank God he doesn’t take occasion to follow through. He seems to derive a sense of accomplishment from proclaiming his intent. Good thing he lacks the attention span to follow through, think where we’d be if he accomplished the things set forth in his speaches.

So you find fault with a President who has the cojones to admit it when he is wrong? Talk about a lynch mob mentality!

And what did he admit to? That he would not allow the proceedings to be televised? And that somebody (possibly Republicans) had snuck in provisions which he was aware of and was in the process of correcting?

How reprehensible !!! Bring out the firebrand and brand him a liar for admitting the truth!

You guys still dont get the gist of his approach which is to sit down together and hash out a solution acceptable to the majority. Instead you all are still blinded by your hatred for anybody who you consider as the Others. How pathetic.

LOL! You should really read what you write, tour. And read what he said, namely, that provisions were snuck in that made a liar out of himself. If you think Republicans snuck anything into the health bills, you are seriously delusional.

He didn’t admit he was wrong. That’s the whole point. He confessed that some “provisions” were “snuck” into the bill. That’s not an admission, that’s BLAME, and this guy wrote the book on it.

Republicans have this all wrong. It’s time the Constitution and its emphasis on federalism were reinstated in this country. That’s what the Tea Party movement is all about, and if you guys don’t smarten up soon, you’re going to be watching the Constitution take over the country from your Lay-Z-Boy chair.

Lead, follow, or please, get out of the way.
