There are two medical doctors in the senate. President Obama can meet with these doctors, but in all the months that this has been going on, he has not met with the only doctors in the Senate. Do you think that maybe these gentlemen might be able to enlighten our dear leader?

President Obama told the carefully staged doctors that no one had more credibility on the topic than doctors did… while ignoring the larger number who were there that day to oppose the government health insurance takeover. Meanwhile, President Obama has yet to talk to any of the practicing physicians actually in congress – all of whom oppose the plan.

The left are huge hypocrtics when it comes to their fake demonization of private insurance. In fact, they want to give them millions of new customers thru their Individual Mandate and a national Monoploy markert thru theres so-called "exchange" – only the largest private insurance firms will survive this regulation and any real choice and competition will be ruined.

In exchange for this corrupt bargin with big insurance firms, the left gets to take over Health Care since they will be seting the rules, forcing you into the government dominated system, and handing out billions in subsides to their political favored groups and their big/rich health insurance industry buddies.

Here are the real facts about the so-called “Free rider” talking point!

(1) Uncompensated care you cite is 1% of total annual HC costs! This problem is SOOO SMALL in the trillions being spent its laughable! So you want to turn our HC system over to the FED GOVT for 1% of the cost and less then 3% of the population who doesn’t choose to buy HC insurance!

Look at your Health Insurance Bill, figure out what 1% is – not much! And far, far, far less then how much the FED GOVT will drive up premium costs with bs regulation, fees and taxes!

The 1% is a small cost to pay to keep my liberty, right to choose to purchase health insurance, and to KEEP THE FEDS out!

(2) You presuppose ALL uninsured people don’t PAY the BILL for their medical care! Again, FALSE! Most people do try to pay, up to 75%. Some people actually save and pay out of their saving or pocket. You fall for the typical arrogant thinking – that your neighbor IS not doing the right thing when in fact most are. You would pay for your HC. Again, we want to take away rights based on false information and a small percentage of the population.

Contrary to popular opinion in the media, the Individual Mandate, not the so-called public option is the key to stopping Obamcare in its tracks. Stop the Individual Mandate and the whole bill will unravel for lack of funding and mandatory participation in the scheme!

This is a very dangerous period because Nationalization will still occur even without an overt government run insurance plan like this "public option" provision everyone keeps fixating on – Wyden/Bennett and the Bacus bill are prime examples of this.

Individual Mandates to buy private insurance sound like a “free market” solution and “individual responsibility” but in this context they are not – they are simply a front for a government run system. Many conservatives can be easily fooled by this faux “private” front (Mitt Romney was) .

Here are the core elements what will be contained in the “health care reform compromise” after the so-called “public option” is in all likelihood dropped:

(a) Federal Regulation aka HEALTH CZAR/DEATH PANELS

(b) Employer/Individual Mandates aka NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE

(c) Government Subsidies aka MIDDLE CLASS MEDICAL WELFARE

With the Federal Government setting the rules, forcing everyone to participate, and is paying the bills for most of the middle class through subsidies how is this anything other than Nationalization?

I'm just amazed the media gets away with the free pass they give to anyone attacking insurance companies. I work for one and I"m not getting rich there. Nobody is getting rich except the over-paid executives, of which there are only a few dozen at any particular company anyway. And when it comes down to it, these 'rich' (sic) guys aren't just raking in the cash and sitting at the beach. They actually put in long hours, often at the expense of their health and personal lives. At their level, they're always on the clock because the company owns them.

But overpaid executives aren't exclusive to insurance companies, and they should be free to pay the executives anything they want. And if these executives want to make the sacrifice for the big money, I say let them. That's part of being free.

And it's a travesty that the role of insurance and its relationship to the medical field is so horribly misrepresented by our elected officials and the media. If you listen to them instead of getting real facts, you would think the insurance company IS the health care industry. Sometimes it just so tiring listing to all the lies and misrepresentation.

The organization, "Doctors for America" were known last year as "Doctors for Obama". Do you think they could have found a friendlier organization?

The Health Care Insurance industry failed to police and set rules of conduct for its own. Such failure is almost always at the heart of governmental regulations. If your industry had accepted all applicants at the same "postage stamp" rate for a comprehensive policy that was guaranteed renewable for life with no cap, the issue of Health Care Reform now before Congress would be moot.

The BEST way to "police" any industry is via competition.

For all the Leftist chit-chat that government takeoever ("public option") somehow enhances competition, the fact is the best way to do would be to completely, totally deregulate the healthcare insurance industry. Allow insurance companies to compete across the entire nation equally, and you would see a burst of innovation that makes the tired old liberal solution of "I have a fresh idea! Let's do another government entitlement program!" look very, very old indeed.

If your industry had accepted all applicants at the same "postage stamp" rate for a comprehensive policy that was guaranteed renewable for life with no cap, the issue of Health Care Reform now before Congress would be moot.

If insurance companies had to accept all applicants with pre-existing conditions, then naturally people would be dialing up their customer service line to sign up for insurance from their local emergency room. That has always been the reason insurance companies had to rule out pre-existing conditions.

Obama thinks he can get around that problem by mandating that we all carry health insurance. But the bottom line is, single healthy people in their early 20's struggle financially as it is, and make their own cost/benefit analysis about the value of helath insurance at that point in their lives.

I can see the argument for mandatory insurance, but let's first of all be honest about what we're talking about: it's a TAX. A little intellectually honesty would have gone a long way, if Obama had bothered exercising it to begin with. As it is, it's no wonder no one trusts him now.

One of the key fundamentals of insurance is RISK. Without a proper evaluation of risk and appropriate pricing of the insurance product, you have a unsustainable business model. These plans in congress will remove the ability of the insurance company to properly price their products.

Once you do that, the insurance company becomes just a government controlled health savings plan (and a poor one at that).

Let’s compare America’s system with Canada’s and Great Britain’s.

As the Senate Finance Committee prepares to vote on its Obamacare bill, it would behoove senators to ask themselves why on Earth America should move even one inch closer to the government-driven health-care model that plagues Canadians and Britons. Thankfully, the Finance Committee bill lacks the government option for health insurance that sends liberal salivary glands gushing. Still, the bill is awash in mandates, regulations, subsidies, taxes, and plenty of other potential distortions that help make single-payer medical systems deadly.

That’s right. Deadly.

Compare America’s system with Canada’s and Great Britain’s. The latter are single-payer, universal health-care programs in which medical treatment is free at the point of service (Yay!), although citizens eventually pay for it through higher taxes (Boo!).

According to Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development data, there were 26.6 MRI machines in the U.S. per million people in 2004. In Canada, there were 4.9 such devices, while Britain enjoyed 5. For every 100,000 Americans, 2006 saw 436.8 receive angioplasties. Among Canadians, that figure was 135.9, while only 93.2 Britons per 100,000 got that cardiac procedure.

Maybe that’s why, among American men, heart-attack deaths in 2004 stood at 53.8 per 100,000. In Canada, 58.3 men per 100,000 died of cardiac arrest, while coronaries buried 69.5 of every 100,000 British males.

The fatality rate for breast cancer, according to the National Center for Policy Analysis and Lancet Oncology, is 25 percent in the U.S., 28 percent in Canada, and 46 percent in Great Britain.

Among those diagnosed with prostate cancer, 19 percent die of the disease in America. In Canada, 25 percent of such patients succumb to this disease. And in Great Britain — an Anglophone NATO member and America’s closest ally — prostate cancer kills 57 percent of those who contract it. That is triple the American fatality rate.
