Obama: If you Won’t Raise Taxes, You Can’t Come Over and Play at my House Anymore

Remember those kids on the playground that when things didn’t go their way, they would take their ball and go home? Or, worse yet, those sullen little brats that would utter the phrase, “Well, you’re not my friend anymore!”

It is now appearing likely that a young Barry Soetoro was like that as in the wake of the sequester cuts, Americans find the Obama Administration in a full-blown hissy-fit with punishment being the goal.

Since the sequester cuts, America has seen the release of illegals by the thousands. Obama threatened to cut the pay of janitors. He threatened to hold us up in lines at the airport because the government could not possibly do without the 2.4% cut from their expected spending.

Now, with the presidential temper tantrum in full-swing, the president has sworn that until we agree to tax hikes, we can’t come over to his house and play anymore.

The Obama administration announced Tuesday that it will cancel all tours starting this weekend, due to sequester cuts. The move prompted swift condemnation from Republican lawmakers, who described the decision as the latest attempt to make the sequester seem worse than it is.

“It’s politically motivated,” Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., told Fox News. “It seems childish — take my ball and go home.”

Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, declared in a statement that “the people have been banned from the people’s house.”

Am I the only for whom this level of discourse is embarrassing? We have a president who is making threats and throwing a fit and who is not only acting very un-presidential, but very un-grown-up as well.

Each day, I wake my computer from its hibernation to find that the Obama Administration has lowered the bar even lower for what passes as legitimate political discourse. While the aim of these pathetic tactics is supposedly to solicit a response of, “This is the Republicans’ fault,” I am pleased to find that the majority of news sources are either critical or- perhaps as telling- conspicuously silent on the nature of Obama’s tactics.

How dire are the sequester cuts? America expects to spend about $3.6 trillion this fiscal year. The cuts are $85 billion or, around 2.4%. Furthermore, l only slightly less than half are actual cuts to outlays- money that has been committed to be actually spent this fiscal year. The rest comes from cuts to budget authority spending- money that can be committed to be expended this fiscal year.

Thankfully, Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert knows BS when he sees it:

Congressman Gohmert (R-TX) introduced an amendment to the Continuing Resolution preventing Obama from using federal funds to transport himself to/from a golf course until White House resumes giving tours to the public…

Gohmert’s amendment reads: None of the funds made available by a division of this Act may be used to transport the President to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume.
