California Proposes Jail Time For Those That Use Wrong Gender Pronoun When Describing Someone

I’m sorry, but what? This is absolutely absurd! This is exactly what happens when you put liberals in charge of a large group of people for an extended period of time, they go absolutely nuts and try to limit freedom of speech.

California is now considering a new law that would impose jail time and fines upon people who use the “wrong” pronouns for transgender senior citizens in long-term care facilities.

How many transgender senior citizens are there that this needs to be a law??

Fines and jail time are in the future for long-term care employees who refuse to acknowledge the pronouns of transgender senior citizens. This seems like a solution in search of a problem.

This proposal also makes mandatory the installation of bathrooms that are designated by gender identity.

I was a CNA for some time and I worked in two different long-term care facilities. I’ve cared for hundreds of different residents and let me tell you, not one of them was transgender and if they were, they didn’t say anything about it.

Furthermore, bathrooms were always in the rooms of the residents, which were either shared or individual. They were never gendered and anyone could use them whenever they wanted. Even the bathrooms for the staff and visitors weren’t gendered. It was a case of first come, first serve. Shower rooms were the same way. One person (of either gender) at a time. There was never any sort of issue regarding “gender identity” or bathroom designation.

The fact that lawmakers are even considering fining “repeat offenders” up to $1,000 and giving them a maximum of 1 year in prison, is absolutely absurd. Why are we even talking about this?

I don’t want to believe that this will make it into law, even in California, but I’ve been disappointed before.
