JK Rowling Apologizes to Trump for Falsely Accusing Him

Well, sort of. J.K. Rowling actually apologized to the little boy and his family, not President Trump. But whatever. She says she is apologizing ‘unreservedly’ over tweeting out in anger at Trump after viewing a selectively edited clip showing Trump snubbing a disabled child. Except that is not what happened at all. The originator of the tweet deleted it fairly quickly, but liberals had already pounced on it and it went viral. Everyone from Chelsea Clinton to Keith Olbmermann unfairly attacked President Trump over it. Piers Morgan went after all of them… good for him.

Rowling at first would not remove the tweets. She has since deleted them. If she had bothered to watch the whole video, she would have known it was a hit job. Instead she called Trump a “monster of narcissism” and claimed he deliberately ignored a young boy in a wheelchair. Eventually, days later, she realized how wrong she was, but it was really hard to swallow apologizing to the President. That’s why she reportedly said: “I very clearly projected my own sensitivities around the issue of disabled people being overlooked or ignored onto the images I saw and if that caused any distress to that boy or his family, I apologise unreservedly.” That went out in a tweet yesterday.

From The Daily Caller:

J.K. Rowling has apologized “unreservedly” after receiving criticism for mischaracterizing Donald Trump’s interaction with a disabled boy in a series of tweets last week.

The “Harry Potter” author called Trump a “monster of narcissism” and claimed he deliberately ignored a young boy in a wheelchair as he met with “victims of Obamacare” ahead of a press conference on July 24.

Rowling fired off the series of tweets after seeing an edited clip of the encounter but, had she watched the full clip, she would have seen the president greet the three-year-old boy named Monty.

After “multiple sources” criticized the author for her tweets, including Monty’s mother, Rowling apologized for her comments, Fox News reports.

“I very clearly projected my own sensitivities around the issue of disabled people being overlooked or ignored onto the images I saw and if that caused any distress to that boy or his family, I apologise unreservedly,” Rowling tweeted on Monday.

The British author deleted the original tweets in which she criticized Trump for his interaction with the young boy.

The apology over the tweets came after the mother of the little boy in question spoke up. Marjorie Kelly Weer, posted on Facebook: “Trump didn’t snub my son & Monty wasn’t even trying to shake his hand.” And Monty was at the White House with the First Lady on his third birthday as well. Rowling is known for attacking President Trump, so I don’t feel the need to give her a pass for sideways apologizing here. It’s just unacceptably unhinged hatred on her part.

One of Rowling’s tweets on this reads in full: “This monster of narcissism values only himself and his pale reflections. The disabled, minorities, transgender people, the poor, women (unless related to him by ties of blood, and therefore his creations) are treated with contempt, because they do not resemble Trump.” This woman is an absolute liar and simply an idiot. She is a political bigot. The real hero in all this is British journalist Piers Morgan, who went after Rowling Monday, “Ms Rowling posted 8 tweets abusing Trump for snubbing a disabled boy – when he hadn’t. She refuses to delete the tweets. SHE is the bully.” Exactly right.
