Mark Wahlberg sick of celebs talking politics, time to SHUT UP [VIDEO]

I’ve always been a fan of Mark Wahlberg. I think he’s a great actor and it turns out… he has a lot of common sense as well. Wahlberg thinks celebrities should just shut it when it comes to politics. He’s absolutely right about that. People watch movies or listen to music to get away from everything… especially politics. For an entertainer to get mired in politics, it is usually the kiss of death to their career. They are bound to tick off a whole segment of their audience regardless of who they support.

It took a high profile celebrity to tell other stars what we have all been dying to say to them forever… shut up! No one wants to hear it. We are too busy just trying to get by day to day, providing for our families and keeping a roof over our heads. That’s why Donald Trump won… because he spoke to the common man… the forgotten man. We might enjoy a celeb’s movie or song, but in the end, they do nothing for us, so they have no room to lecture us.

From People:

Don’t expect Mark Wahlberg to weigh in on the 2016 election, or any politics for the matter.

In an interview with Task & Purpose, the actor said he doesn’t like to talk politics — and doesn’t think celebrities should publicly air their opinions about it either.

“A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t,” Wahlber, 45, said at a luncheon in New York as he touted his upcoming film Patriot’s Day.

He elaborated, explaining his position about celebrities and their influence on the rest of the country.

“You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway,” he said, referring to Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump earlier this month. “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family.”

Wahlburg is currently promoting his upcoming move ‘Patriots Day‘. The movie is on the Boston Marathon bombing that happened in 2013. It stars Alex Wolff, Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman and Themo Melikidze. Trailer below.

Wahlberg’s latest movie is what he calls a “trilogy of films” that he’s worked on with director Peter Berg, who he affectionately refers to as his brother. Wahlberg and Berg previously worked on Deepwater Horizon (2016) and Lone Survivor (2013). All three of these movies depict actual events and tell the story of heroism from average men – though some would seriously disagree that Marcus Luttrell, the main character of Lone Survivor, is an average guy. All are great movies.

He’s a patriot that obviously loves his country. Wahlberg is one of the few celebrities that truly gets it out there and is trying to help this nation, not divide it. He actually can relate to the common man on the street. And he’s strong enough to tell other celebrities to stay out of politics and stick to what they are best at. Amen to that.
