It’s Automatic. Five months after her divorce from Blake Shelton, a single Miranda Lambert said in a new interview that there were no sides to take in their split.
“We are real people with real lives and real s–t,” Lambert, 32, toldCosmopolitan (via Page Six). “We’re both very honest. This is what it is now, and we’re moving forward. We don’t need all the opinions. We just need y’all to be supportive, and nobody pick a side — because there ain’t a side.”
As diplomatic as she was with her response about Shelton, Lambert hinted that the women in her family are more than meets the eye. “We will offer you a sweet tea and hug and love you to death, but we will not put up with your s–t,” she told Cosmo.
Lambert and Shelton, 39, announced their split this past July after four years of marriage. The same day the superstar singers confirmed their separation, their divorce was finalized.
While Lambert remains unattached, her ex-husband has since moved on with another newly single music star: Gwen Stefani, who announced her split from husband Gavin Rossdale in August. (The No Doubt songstress’ rep confirmed the news of the coupling exclusively to Us Weekly this past October.)
Though Shelton moved on quickly after his divorce, the country hunk told theBobby Bones Show in September that he and Lambert were copacetic. “Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this,” the “Honey Bee” crooner claimed. “It is what it is. We’re buddies.”
I don’t think most of us can understand what it is to be famous and live under a giant spotlight all the time. It must be unnerving and even a saint would snap under that pressure at some point. After being with Blake for 10 years, the separation and divorce was traumatic. But in the end, that’s their business and they have their own lives. Both have moved on – Lambert is dating again and Shelton is now with Gwen Stefani and very happy. I hope that Lambert and Shelton do remain friends and I wish happy endings for both of them.
