Outrage After Sylvester Stallone Does THIS During Golden Globes Speech

Sylvester Stallone won a Golden Globe award for “Best Supporting Actor” in his latest film Creed. When he got up to thank everyone, he forgot to mention director, Ryan Coogler, and the star of the film, Michael B. Jordan, both of whom are African-American. I expected mass outcries of racism and it came close via Samuel L. Jackson. But Stallone came back during the commercial break and apologized and congratulated both of them. He got flustered on stage and even though he swore he would be prepared, he flubbed it. Surely his thoughts were drifting to his late son, who died of heart failure at the age of 36, four years ago. All is forgiven and everyone seems to understand. I know I do.

Stallone

From Independent Journal:

Sylvester Stallone was among many of Hollywood’s top stars to receive an honor at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards, but he is among a smaller circle of celebs who are getting chastised after giving their speech.

Stallone won the award for “Best Supporting Actor” in the film Creed, but after he thanked numerous people, viewers noticed there were two important names left off his list.

Those two were Creed director, Ryan Coogler, and the star of the film, Michael B. Jordan, both of whom are African-American.

Stallone had this to say: “I didn’t expect it all, and I don’t remember a standing ovation. I’m shocked, was there really? You’re kidding me. I have to get a Tivo,” he said. “I did not expect to win at all so, I made a promise to myself that I would be very aware the whole time – it proves I’m not aware. I got really caught up in emotion.” He continued with, “Thank you very much. Just the mere fact that these incredible people applauding, it makes me realize that in life, it’s really never over ’til it’s over, and it indicates that people should never give up trying, so I think it was a very, very positive message for everybody.” Stallone felt he was respecting Sage’s memory by doing this movie. He did and more.
