This World Famous Celebrity Has Declared That He’s Running for President in 2020

In case you thought the country couldn’t get any more screwed up after President Obama, think again. Now we have a brain-dead, egomaniacal celebrity saying he’ll run — and judging by the number of people supporting Donald Trump, the scary thing is wondering how many people would actually vote for him.

Kanye West

Rapper Kanye West likely surprised viewers everywhere with a lengthy and bizarre speech at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night — and he ended it with an apparent declaration of his intention to run for president in 2020.

“I have decided, in 2020, to run for president,” West said.

Of course, the actual seriousness of the announcement is anyone’s guess.

The rapper also admitted he had done some drugs before he hit the stage, though it wasn’t entirely clear if he was joking or being serious.

“Y’all might be thinking right now, ‘Did he smoke something before he came out here?’ The answer is, yes, I rolled up a little something,” West said.

In the beginning of his rambling speech, West addressed the infamous on-stage incident at the VMAs years ago, in which the rapper stormed the stage and interrupted singer Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for best female video.

He stopped short of apologizing, but hinted that he may have let his emotions get the better of him in his attempt to “fight” for music artists.

Of course, it’s highly doubtful that Kanye West will actually run for president. But in our celebrity-driven culture, it’s scary to think about what would happen if he actually did.
