Harry Reid And The Big, Phony Race Game

“There is this standard where Democrats feel that they can say these things and they can apologize when it comes from the mouths of their own. But if it comes from anyone else, it is racism. If Mitch McConnell had said those very words that this chairman and this president would be calling for his head, and they would be labeling every Republican in the country as a racist for saying exactly what this chairman has just said. — Michael Steele

Some racially insensitive comments by Harry Reid have been making the rounds:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Now everybody reading this page, conservative, liberal, or moderate, knows that if a Republican senator made those EXACT SAME REMARKS, it would create a crapstorm that could last for weeks. In fact, Trent Lott lost his leadership position for making remarks that were no more offensive than the ones that Reid made.

So, what has been the reaction?

There’s nothing at the press room of the NAACP. Barack Obama has already accepted Reid’s apology. Al Sharpton has even forgiven him.

So, what does this tell you? It tells you that liberal Democrats don’t really believe 98% of the nonsense that they spout about race. It’s all a big politically motivated game.

If a Republican says something they can interpret as “racist,” liberal Democrats pretend to be offended and demand scalps — but, it’s all BS. They’re just posturing for political advantage because if a Democrat said the exact same things, they wouldn’t care in the least.

It’s a big, phony game designed to fill people’s pockets, gain political advantage, and convince black Americans that even if it makes a lot more sense to vote for Republicans, they shouldn’t do it, because Republicans hate them.

It’s the easiest game in the world to play for Democrats because black liberals get to be the ones who pretend to be offended. As long as Republicans allow the Democrats to make the rules and choose all the “referees,” we’re never going to win no matter what we say or what we do.
