If Broadband Is A Right, Then A Car Is A Right
Written By : Melissa Clouthier

Why do leftists insist on making everything a right? Why can’t they let the market do its thing?

Here’s the deal: When people say that broadband is a right, what they mean is that the United States should pay for the world’s internet access.

To Liberals, everything is a right.

Well, except for the Right to Bear Arms.

Or the right to have an opposing opinion.

I think what they meant in the survey is, the government cannot take the internet away from you. As in, if they took it away from you forcibly it’d be an infringement on your rights.

Much like freedom of speech. The government isn’t forced to give everyone TV time, access to publishers etc. however it is a right in that they can’t take it away from you.

Leftists don’t understand that the freedom to attempt to acquire something (ie a legitimate right) is not the same as the right to be guaranteed success at that endeavor. True rights don’t place a burden on everyone else.

The one exemption may be in providing legal counsel in a trial. However this is unique in that it is in response to a government action against you. We the people are putting you on trial so we the people are obligated to provide for your defense if necessary. That doesn’t apply to any of the other ones.
