African Dictators to Demand 5% of West’s GDP

It’s a good thing we all have plenty of money to spare, because the socialist dictators lording it over Africa are exploiting the Dopenhagen spectacle as an opportunity to demand a fat cut of it in the name of the global warming farce:

According to a draft text, 50 African countries are considering demanding five percent of rich nations’ GDPs for developing countries, plus deep emission cuts, reports Danish daily Politiken.

The African Group is discussing tough financial demands of the developed countries at the UN climate conference.

In a draft text quoted by Danish daily Politiken, the group of 50 countries proposes that rich countries pay five percent of their GDPs to developing countries in support for their fight against climate change.

They may not get their 5%, but they are sure to be handed more than enough loot to inflict further damage to our economy — in the name of a “crisis” that has already been publicly exposed as a deliberate hoax.

If only there would be someone to shower down free taxpayer money to buy guns and palaces for our rulers, after economically suicidal liberal policies inevitably reduce the West to an African standard of living.

Yes, well this is really what the huge support for cap and trade and global warming hysteria in the third world comes from: greed and a desire for Democracy Offsets. Pay these thugs, murderers, tyrants, and monsters to stay in power, to buy more palaces and cars, and to get more weapons to oppress their people and keep their armies happy.

This is what the global warming movement has always been about: “Gimme yo money, b*tch.”

Remember back before AGW became a religion, there was talk about Africa taking a leap forward and essentially skipping the fossil fuel stage of development entirely? They would use solar and wind (of which they have plenty) and nuclear power and since there is so little infrastructure, bypass coal and oil for power generation and automobiles. Most of what it would require is access to technology (the gift being they wouldn’t have had to pay for its development).

All that nonsense has been forgotten. Now they want the cash. You can buy bigger limos and yachts with dollars than with crap like solar panels and water pumps for the people.

The irony is that if Africa had leaders worth a damn, they probably could make that leap forward. It’s not like Africa is a barren wasteland. There’s resources there.

Unfortunately, the nations there are typically dominated by strongmen with room-temperature IQs and the ethics of a starving wolverine.
