Babs Boxer Calls For ClimateGate Criminal Investigation
Written By : William Teach

But, if you think she wants to go after the folks who have pushed junk science on the world, um, no

Leaked e-mails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday afternoon.

Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a crime.

“You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,’” she said during a committee meeting. “Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I’m looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public.”

As Ace has been putting it for a long time, when a leak helps the democrats, it is about getting the information released. Venture back to all the national security leaks during the Bush admin. Venture back to the hacking of the the Palin’s email accounts. No complaints from the Dems then, eh? But, if the leak hurts the Democrats, well, it must be criminal, and any belief in whistle-blowing goes right out the door.

Are we facing global warming? Sure, if you want to use the word to describe what has been mostly, or solely, a natural process, which has been going on for the life of the Earth, and the current warming period has been going on since the end of a cooling period. If you want to use the term to describe it be all Mankind’s fault, then, no, not as such. If you do believe it is Mankind’s fault, well, you have drunk so deeply at the kool aid bar that nothing will help you.

I am sure they will look deeply into all the Bush administration people that pulled off this ponzi scam on the world. But I bet they will never ask a certain high ranking Clinton administration person about his involvment. I think he made a movie, won an Oscar and a Nobel Peace Prize, and raked in hundreds of millions of dollars in the scam. What was his name. It escapes me at the moment because his name has not even been mentioned once in all of this Climategate hysteria. Give me a minute, I am sure it will come back to me.

Nixon agrees. The hackers were only doing their patriotic duty, just as the NYTImes reporters who leaked top secret information under the Bush Administration. They should get a medal. Since the man made Global Warming issue has been completely discredited, the purveyors of this mythology should be liable for civil damages.

You got that right. Hypocrisy from liberals? See it all the time. Why, it’s is about as common as:

    - Communists in a college
    - Joblessness under Obama
    - Hair plugs on Biden
    - Uncomfortable stares from Pelosi
    - User name changes from liberal posters at RWN
    - Errors in a Michael Moore movie
    - Racists in the Democrat party
    - Liberal “leg tingles” everytime Obama speaks
    - Cluelessness from liberal posters at RWN

This all reminds me of the investigations of investigations conducted by the academics at the university I used to work for as a cop. Never mind the facts that the student was underage and drunk, had driven their car into the side of a building, and then decided to take a swing at an officer. They wanted to know why the OFFICER was in the area. How dare he do his job and make an arrest of an innocent student just looking to have fun.

For that matter this “crime” took place in England reportedly perpetrated by a Russian hacker. What business is it of our congress’s to make statements as to the legality of the actions during a formal meeting? What is she going to do, serve summons on foreign citizens in their home countries?

Oh, wait. She may just be stupid enough to stomp on toes like that.

Don’t investigate ACORN; investigate the people that exposed it for the corrupt liars and criminals that they are.
Don’t investigate the people pushing Man-Made Global Warming and making millions from taxpayer dollars; investigate the people that exposed it for the lie that it is.
Don’t investigate anyone in the Obama administration for their racist and terrorist ties, put the Bush Administration on trial for NOTHING!

Thanks Liberals. This is what your votes for Obama has given us!

Whistle blowers are only good guys if they hurt business and republicans. If they hurt a leftist cause, they are bad guys and must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

The legacy media template is simple:
When a leak helps Democrats, the story is about the content of the leak.
When a lean hurts Democrats, the story is about the method of the leak.

Does Babs have her head so far up her bum that she hasn’t heard that UEA (University of East Anglia) is already conducting an investigation into the leaks? Is the Boxmeister so clueless as to have not heard that the British Government is also investigating? Is this dumb bint so blinded by her ideology that she can’t understand that Americans played only a supporting role in the conspiracy to defraud the world, and the bulk of it lies with the Brits?

They’re rhetorical questions, folks. No need to answer.

But I agree with Babs on one thing – an investigation is in order. The conduct of the scientists who withheld and destroyed data to prevent it from being released under a legitimate FOI request should be investigated and charges laid, if appropriate.

“But I agree with Babs on one thing – an investigation is in order.”

Hey sure. Let’s bring all the emails and data onto the House floor and dump it out for everyone to see. Print out every email and examine all the headers and content. Examine every individual that had access to the systems and information. Examine every remote connection to the servers, who had access, and the flow of all the data. Haul every employee of East Anglia U before the committee and have them spill their guts about everything. Front page news for weeks, at least.

Just get that SOB Mann up there and demand to know why he fudged the data to erase the Medieval Warm Period, and tacked modern instrument readings onto reconstructed historical temperatures and thought no one would ever notice. I’ve been screaming about that for years. It’s voodoo, not science.

Purely specualation, but I’m inclined to believe that the whistleblower was Ian (Harry) Harris of Harry_Read_Me fame. If so, as a foreign national living in a foreign state, it is unlikely the U.S. would have jurisdiction.

Nothing here to see. Move along.

You should take your own advice, you castrato drive-by asshat. Move along and fling your feces on someone else’s website.

“Nothing here to see. Move along.”

Please, please, please move along. I’m begging you, please move along. If you read about the foolishness of my hero Democrats, you’ll lose respect for them and that’s not good. For the love of God, just please move along.

    Bill_Dalasio,

what’s the back story on Ian (Harry) Harris? I just found his read me file, but I’m not sure what it is -and I don’t know about the credibility of the info contained therein!

Harris is one of the staff of the CRU. His title is listed as the member of the research staff for “Dendroclimatology, climate scenario development, data manipulation (heh) and visualisation, programming”. In effect, he’s their IT guy. While Harris has not taken credit for Read_Me_Harry, most people think its his file. The file outlines the author’s nightmarish ordeal trying to make heads or tails of the database that the CRU claims is their source data. He pretty much calls their entire data structure worthless. As you follow (you may want to read some of the summaries out there – it’s a long document) the thing, it becomes increasingly clear that he was likely tasked with trying to recreate their own results and gave it up as impossible. In effect, he inhereted the mess that was the CRU’s research dataset and was asked to make it legit. Read_Me_Harry makes pretty clear that wasn’t going to happen.

I suspect Harris was the whistleblower because of the FOI requests. He would have been perfectly positioned to take the fall for CRU’s inability to come up with the data. He was the small potatos guy and was “responsible for the data”. Now, it’s clear that the senior research staff were the problem, rather than an incompetent IT guy.

I agree that Michael “Piltdown” Mann ought to be brought up under investigation for misusing funds, fraud, and destroying violating the British Freedom of Information laws, along with many other members of the AGW hysteric community. But somehow I don’t think that’s what Boxer means.
