BBC Notices There Has Been No Warming For 10 Years
Written By : William Teach

One of the biggest British cheerleaders for climate alarmism (and, remember, the BBC gets a pretty decent worldwide audience) finally comes clean: What happened to global warming?

This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.

But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.

And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.

I’m not surprised that the BBC is not allowing comments on this story. Surely, they and the writer, Paul Hudson, are receiving some seriously nasty and personal email since the publication.

Sceptics argue that the warming we observed was down to the energy from the Sun increasing. After all 98% of the Earth’s warmth comes from the Sun.

But research conducted two years ago, and published by the Royal Society, seemed to rule out solar influences.

But one solar scientist Piers Corbyn from Weatheraction, a company specialising in long range weather forecasting, disagrees.

He claims that solar charged particles impact us far more than is currently accepted, so much so he says that they are almost entirely responsible for what happens to global temperatures.

The report, to be released at the end of the month, should be interesting.

What is really interesting at the moment is what is happening to our oceans. They are the Earth’s great heat stores.

According to research conducted by Professor Don Easterbrook from Western Washington University last November, the oceans and global temperatures are correlated.

The oceans, he says, have a cycle in which they warm and cool cyclically. The most important one is the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO).

For much of the 1980s and 1990s, it was in a positive cycle, that means warmer than average. And observations have revealed that global temperatures were warm too.

But in the last few years it has been losing its warmth and has recently started to cool down.

These cycles in the past have lasted for nearly 30 years.

I guess we will wait to see if the people, like Easterbrook, who are out there doing actual science, using actual physical measurements, as opposed to looking at computer models (garbage in garbage out,) is right.

Of course, the climate alarmist argument is that the warming wouldn’t have been as bad without Mankind’s contribution, and that the cooling will not be as bad because of Mankind’s influence. Or, they can go with the old standard that Climate Change (man-made) causes it to get hot, cold, wet, dry. In other words, every type of weather.

And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.

Read that passage aloud and what you will hear in the sound of your voice is the sound of a failed scientific hypothesis falling apart. When your whole model is built around a simple, straightforward suspected relationship e.g. increase this variable and there will be a corresponding increase to that outcome, and then in the first ten years following your creating your model just the opposite happens, well, your model has been shown to be wrong, false, crapola. It's time to move on and test a new hypothesis.

No one thinks the climate is just warming anymore, that's why it is now known as climate "change."

    Trying to fix it.

No, it is known as "climate change" because the little theory that it was Man's release of CO2 which was supposed to simply cause warming was not living up to expectations.

If a buildup of greenhouse gasses is supposed to create warming, how does it cause cooling? CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gasses cause warming. That is what we have heard for decades of whining. Now, it is getting cooler. How is that possible, Jack?

Oh, so you clowns were wrong on your first go around so now your changing things around a bit. I get the feeling, from reading your posts, that your too young to remember the 70's and the climate hysteria your ilk tried then. As usual, all predictions were wrong. Stuck on stupid is what you are.

Global Warming has become a multi billion dollar business. Just because this entire business is based on a lie doesn't negate that many people across the global are dependant upon the continuation of the lie. Some have used it to get rich like Al Gore, others are using it for increasing their power. The Global Warming people are not going to give up without a fight and they will keep this ponzi scheme going for many more years by simply continuing to move the goal posts.

The article is pretty sad, they tried desperately to salvage the AGW narrative, claiming the proof that the sun was not causing warming was "clear" but they still had to back down from that too. Its sad how strongly the left clings to this myth, but its their best hope for ramming leftist ideology and socialism down everyone's throat, until the next fake crisis.

That used to be called "evolution" but evolution wasn't a good political excuse. The earth has been changing for millions of years but somehow, the most recent 100 years was due to man at the exact same time evolution somehow stopped. (/sarc)

I guess that makes you a Creationist since you obviously don't believe in the existence of evolution. LOL!

In the '70's it was cooling, in the 90's it was warming, and now it's just change. So far the theories have failed live up to the hype COMPLETELY> If no one can accurately(95% predict the weather(small scale) in the coming 48 hrs(short time frame). The ability to predict accurately on a large scale(globally) for the same time frame become exponetionally more difficult(say 5%). Now take that same exponential decrease in accuracy and extend the time frame to weeks or even years(let alone decades) and you reduce reduce your accuracy to levels well below 1% like .00000001. And that's assuming 95% accuracy, meteoroligists are lucky to get 50% accuracy(Temp, humidity, wind speed, dew points, wind direction, cloud cover, precip just too many variables.) So color me more than a little skeptical.

Not too mention that so far, given all the data we do collect, and the models scientists use, they cannot RECREATE the next days weather and the calculations take MONTHS. But you and other climahysterics want us to believe that we can trust their predictions… Talk about deniers!!

    Dear Mr. Schite:

Since the only constant scientists have found in the study of climate over historical time periods is the fact that the climate is always changing, isn't the phrase "climate change" a bit of a redundancy, or at the very least just a pointless restatement of the painfully obvious?

  • http://guardian.blogdrive.com/ CavalierX

I gotta hand it to the BBC. They finally admitted what has become painfully obvious. Of course, it might have been "news" had they printed this article seven or eight years ago. But better late than never, I guess… even in the news business.

  • http://www.thepiratescove.us William_Teach

Well, you know, 10 years only makes a trend when it is warming. Surely, this is just weather ;)

The global warming hucksters make the oil industry they constantly demonize look like pikers. At lest the people in the oil industry produced something we all needed. These hucksters are forcing us to go to other fuels and technologies, long before the market for them is there and at horrible costs, so they can make a killing. Indubitably these people are all pushers, like your democrats tied to the many AGW scams passing as solutions, and companies that stand to make a fortune hawking their overpriced and unnecessary wares, like GE.

How pathetic that the nuclear, oil, gas, and coal industries all get demonized as greedy and money grubbing, intend on murdering us all, when the AGW scammers are perpetrating a crime that pales in comparison to what they have accused the others of. And have no doubt that they are about to set our living standards back by centuries as the costs for these ridiculous changes are forced on us, not to save the planet as they claim, but to expand their power and fatten their wallets. As usual, the road to hell is paved with liberals and their intentions.
