What will he announce?

I will be announcing my decision on Paris Accord, Thursday at 3:00 P.M. The White House Rose Garden. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 1, 2017[2]

CNN[3] is not taking this well

President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement[4], two senior US officials familiar with his plans told CNN Wednesday, a major break from international partners that would isolate the United States in global efforts to curb global warming.

The decision would put the US at odds with nearly every other nation on earth. It would reflect a major reversal of the Obama administration’s efforts on climate change. And it could trigger further efforts to erode the landmark climate accord.

This would be the agreement that is non-binding, has voluntary goals, and, if the models behind the agreement are correct, would reduce warming by a mere .3 Fahrenheit[5] by the end of the century, all while killing economies and cost hundreds of trillions. Even United Nations groups[6] think the agreement is a failure waiting to happen.

The LA Times Editorial Board has a serious hot-take

If Trump withdraws from the Paris agreement, let’s hope the world survives[7]

This is one campaign promise that President Trump should have let slide. According to news reports, Trump is on the verge of announcing that yes, he will withdraw the United States from the 2015 Paris climate agreement among nearly 200 nations. If that comes to pass, the move will just make it more difficult for the world to counter the worst effects of the global warming that’s already underway. The more level-headed and reality-based members of Trump’s inner circle need to redouble their efforts now to turn their boss around. (snip)

If the latest reports are true, though, he must not have listened to what every other leader at the G-7 summit in Sicily was saying. The withdrawal would also send a troubling signal that the nationalists on his team have won out over the realists, which means the administration is becoming more inwardly focused as the world is growing more globally connected.

Interestingly, for all the yammering from the “anti-fascist” forces, known as Antifa (who are themselves Progressives, with their roots in the Fascist movement), Trump has mostly made moves to reduce the scope of governmental control of citizens, private entities, energy, and the economy. Other than the silly Ryancare/Trumpcare health insurance mandate, which essentially replaces one mandate with another, it’s all about government out of our lives. These G-7 leaders are at odds with Trump because they want to increase governmental control over citizens, private entities, everything, while increasing taxation and fees.

The world survived without the U.S. in the Kyoto Protocol, and it will survive without the U.S. in the big government, big taxation, big redistribution scheme known as the Paris Climate Agreement.

Hot-takes abound, with Warmists freaking out all over the place. Let’s wait and see what Trump has to say this afternoon.
