Has liberal Heroine Sandra Fluke Already turned into the Cindy Sheehan of the 2012 Election Cycle?

Remember Cindy Sheehan? She started out as a sad story that made it into the spotlight – a woman who lost a son fighting overseas. Everyone felt sorry for her. Then she blamed Bush for her son’s death and while people started to get a little uncomfortable, they still understood. Then, the Left made her into an anti-war martyr who was supposed to be their primary spokesperson on the war and people were like, “Ugh. ” Next thing you know, she was on the speakers’ circuit, spinning conspiracy theories, trashing the United States and wielding her son’s coffin like a shield to deflect all criticism of her uninformed, unhinged opinions. Most normal people had long since grown weary of her exploitation of her own son’s death. At that point, Cindy Sheehan made her biggest mistake: She started criticizing LIBERALS. Next thing you know, she was just another speed bump under the bus and everyone stopped paying attention to her.

Of course, Sandra Fluke hasn’t gone through that entire cycle yet. She’s just a shameless 30 year old student looking for a handout who was useful to the Left for a few months when the liberals wanted to push the “war on women” meme. While that was hot, she was treated like a political rock star. She even got a primo speaking slot at the DNC. It was good to be Sandra Fluke –: until it wasn’t anymore.

Sandra Fluke, the woman at the center of a media firestorm earlier this year after Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut,” spoke Saturday in front of about 10 people at the Sak ‘N Save in north Reno.

The speech was part of a daylong effort by Democrats to get Northern Nevadans to the polls on the first day of early voting.

Wow, that’s pitiful. It reminds me of the incredibly sad scene from: “The Wrestler”: where the aging hero sits in a shabby room with other broken down wrestlers in a barely attended autograph signing session and sees the emptiness of the future in front of him after what he considered a glorious past. Fluke doesn’t even have that much to fall back on. She’s not a “has been,” she’s a “never was” who’s famous for her begging and now, she’s already been reduced to speaking in front of 10 people at the “Sak ‘N Save.”

Come to think of it, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving woman.
