It’s Time To Take Egypt Off The Dole

You have to go all the way back to the 13th century to find a time when Egypt was a “great nation.” Today, Egypt is just another crummy backwater that’s famous for Pyramids, Islamic radicalism, and rape. Of course, it’s hard to be sorry that the tyrannical Hosni Mubarak was overthrown, but the country is now run by the Muslim Brotherhood, which is even worse than Mubarak.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a virulently anti-American, terrorist friendly group that deserves the scorn of all decent people. Although many Americans are now referring to Egypt as a Democracy, it’s worth keeping in mind that a lot of dictators were elected – once. When you see the Muslim Brotherhood trash like Mohamed Morsi voted out of office in an honest election and a peaceful transfer of power, then you can start legitimately referring to Egypt as a Democracy. Hopefully, that will happen, but there’s good cause for skepticism.

Getting beyond that, we’re giving Egypt, which is now run by TERRORISTS who are hostile to America,: 1.55 billion dollars a year. Why are we doing that? The honest answer is that it’s blackmail money. The unspoken (at least publicly) agreement is that we give them money and they keep the peace treaty with Israel. Meanwhile, the government run press in that country does everything they can to stir up hate against Israel and the United States. Even after our embassy was attacked in that country, Mohamed Morsi refused to condemn the death of Americans and was calling for more protests.

These are not good people. These are not our friends. If Mohamed Morsi ate a bullet, the world would be a better place.

Still, there’s a reason the phrase,: “He may be a son-of-a-b*tch, but he’s our son-of-a-b*tch”: came into being. The world being what it is, we sometimes have to work with some awful people. The problem with that is, Morsi isn’t even, “our son-of-a-b*tch” – and yet we’re going to put 1.5 billion dollars in his nation’s pocket because as long as Egypt isn’t on board, another attempt at genocide by Israel’s neighbors seems unlikely.

Shouldn’t we ask a LITTLE BIT more than that for 1.5 billion dollars? Especially since we may end up funding terrorists who’ll blow themselves up in our country one day with our own tax dollars? Some people will say, “No, keeping the peace agreement with Israel is enough.” It’s not though. Any nation that wants our money, especially when we’re running a trillion dollar debt, needs to give us more value for our money than Egypt is doing right now. If that’s the best they can do, it’s time to take them off the dole.
