Jay Sekulow of ACLJ Says No Tolerance To President Obama’s Leaks

It is a significant story. One that certainly has national security implications. There’s new fallout from intelligence leaks that occurred last summer – the unauthorized release of sensitive information from what is likely to be the highest level of our government.

There are reports now that the FBI and the Department of Justice are looking into the leak of President Obama’s order launching cyber attacks on the Iranian nuclear program which used a computer virus developed by Israel. By all accounts, the cyber attacks were successful. But the leaking of the information raises serious concerns about our national security. The key questions remain: Who leaked the information and why?

The investigation is reportedly looking at email accounts and phone records – and it’s reported that investigators are looking at those who work at the highest level of government – those who would have had access to this very sensitive information. I discussed the issue today on America Live on FOX News and made it clear that this is a very significant issue with serious implications.

The fact is that the White House and top government officials need to cooperate in this probe. Investigators need to get to the bottom of what happened and why.

It’s important to remember that these top government officials and advisors are all required, as a condition of employment, to sign documents agreeing to protect confidential information and not disclose it.

The FBI needs to fast track this investigation. It’s important to find out who is responsible for this leak. And, the Justice Department needs to prosecute those responsible to fullest extent of the law. Without delay. There must be a “no tolerance” policy when it comes to leaking confidential information concerning our national security.
