Just Let Everyone In, As Long As They Are Muslim

Yesterday the Senate Judiciary Committee passed what they mindlessly named a “Sense of the Senate” resolution calling for no religious test for immigrants entering this country. The bipartisan vote was 16-4. It was offered up by Vermont Statist Senator Patrick “Leaky”  http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/740748/posts Leahy ( D-Vt.) as an amendment to a bill, S.1318, the Nuclear Terrorism Conventions Implementation and Safety of Maritime Navigation Act of 2015.

The resolution was added by Leahy over the issue of Trump’s comments, with Democrat Senators repeatedly saying that excluding people on the basis of religion was intolerable and not what the country stood for. In supporting the bill, Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) talked about Trump wanting to close down houses of worship, which is exactly what liberal France is doing. They have closed down three thus far, confiscating hundreds of weapons. But I’m sure the weapons were just for hunting… infidels.

And a funny thing happened on the way to the democrat and establishment republican talking points: In November CNS News, http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/patrick-goodenough/syrian-christians-are-greatest-peril-least-likely-be-admitted looked at data showing “only 53 Syrian Christian refugees have been allowed into America, compared to 2,098 Syrian Muslims.”

Another report  http://cnsnews.com/news/article/patrick-goodenough/04-christian-syrian-refugees-admitted-paris-attacks-include-236 shows that, “Since the Paris terror attacks on November 13, the State Department has admitted 237 Syrian refugees into the United States – 236 Sunni Muslims and one Christian (0.4 percent), according to data from the State Department Refugee Processing Center.”

Well, Leahy was not wrong when he said: “Let’s formally reject this call for closing borders to Muslims.” They sure have done that.  Bar Christians yes – but not Muslims. It makes sense and is not the least bit intolerant considering the constant threat of attack by Christian refugees, which happens…never!

A congressional source said  http://freebeacon.com/national-security/congress-to-consider-easing-passage-into-u-s-for-immigrants/ that, “This amendment will establish the progressive goal of creating a right to global migration, their solution to global income inequality. This is not simply a slippery slope. This is ripping open Pandora’s box.”

The source went on to explain that this will cripple our immigration system and prevent authorities from conducting “normal background checks.” The rule will also prevent us from denying, for example, a radical Islamic Cleric a tourist visa to come over here under the guise of giving a speech.

And if we deny the radical passage into our nation, he may then sue for the right to do so. Everyone got that?! A radical Islamist would have standing to sue the United States for the “right” to come kill us.

That’s the Pandora’s Box to which the congressional source was speaking. The source summed it up by saying: “…our founding documents confer on no alien the right of entry to the United States and to travel down this road is to challenge the very idea that immigration is supposed to serve the American interest and no other.”
But as we’ve seen time and time again, political correctness trumps (pardon the pun) prudence. And that will not change until we term limit these panderers out or some terrorist event directly affects them. You can bet that if radical Islamists shot up the Senate Chambers instead of San Bernardino, they would all be singing an entirely different tune.
