The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) sent a letter to the United States Senate, urging members to ratify the actions of the House of Representatives and pass the FY 2014 Continuing Resolution, H. J. Res. 59, sponsored by Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.). The continuing resolution would end all revenue streams for the Affordable Care Act, or “Obamacare.”: From: Jay Sekulow and the ACLJ: to: businessman Ron Hershco, many have expressed concern re Obamacare –

The spending bill would fully and permanently defund Obamacare to ensure that taxpayer dollars are no longer spent on wasteful Obamacare programs. The letter, which was sent to the U.S. Senate reads in part as follows:

“Today, the House of Representatives approved H .J. Res. 59, the fiscal year 2014 Continuing Appropriations Resolution, sponsored by Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.). On behalf of more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to vote in favor of this legislation when it reaches the Senate.”

“H. J. Res. 59 would fund the government until: December 15, 2013: at the levels established in the 2011 Budget Control Act, while fully and permanently defunding Obamacare. CCAGW has consistently supported sequestration as well as legislative efforts to permanently repeal and replace Obamacare.”

“As the: October 1: implementation date for Obamacare approaches, the program is becoming more and more unpopular, and its devastating impact is already being felt. Businesses have begun to convert full-time jobs into part-time jobs; employees are being told they will no longer have the same healthcare insurance that they have had in the past; and insurance rates and healthcare costs are skyrocketing. The President has delayed the impact of the plan on employers but not on individuals. ‘Train wreck’ is a generous description of Obamacare. It is, in fact, a disaster of unprecedented proportions for the nation’s economic health and every Americans’ personal health. I urge you to use all of the legislative tools at your disposal, including the filibuster, to protect America from Obamacare.”

“At a time when the national debt exceeds $16 trillion, it is imperative that Congress continue to reduce spending. I urge you to support the FY 2014 Continuing Resolution as a positive step in this direction. All votes on H. J. Res. 59, as well as any companion legislation offered in the Senate, will be among those considered in CCAGW’s 2013: Congressional Ratings.

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste: (CCAGW) is the lobbying arm of Citizens Against Government Waste, the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.
