Obamacare’s Orthodoxy of Faith

Caller: “Republicans refuse to negotiate, all they want to do is ruin the economy and Republicans said it all when they said they just want to get Obama out of office.”

Rick Jensen

Jensen: “The President and Harry Reid have both said they refuse to negotiate with the Republicans who have reached out to the Democrats.”

Caller: “I don’t care about those details?! Try it and you’ll like it. Green eggs and ham! Green eggs and ham!”

Jensen: “So what you’re saying is, ‘we won, you lost, we don’t care about how people are being affected.'”

Silence.

Caller: “Thank you for letting me be heard.”

Maybe this is what people believe because it’s what the major media reports.

Harry Reid confessed Obamacare is just the first step toward a single-payer system. Perhaps like the U.K., where breast cancer and colon cancer survival rates are horribly lower than ours in the U.S. Perhaps like Canada, where doctors go on strike and the government “redefines” critical care to the point where Canadians who can afford it travel to the U.S. for “elective” surgery to save their lives.

Still, Reid’s confession was ignored by the national media.

It’s true many Republicans are trying to prevent what Harry Reid recently confessed would be a government takeover of health care in this country. It’s also true that Obamacare is already denying people around the country from seeing the doctors of their choice or selecting the insurance company of their choice.

Has the media contributed to this orthodoxy of faith among true believers of Obamacare?

Faith that even though the commandment of “Thou shalt keep thine own doctor of choice” is already being broken around the country, Obamacare will take care of us.

Faith that even though the commandment of “Thou shalt keep the insurance plan of your choice” is already being broken around the country, Obamacare will take care of us.

It’s similar to the “faith” that even though the stimulus failed to encourage private sector economic growth, “doing something” is “good.”

Not always.

Faced with an economic depression in 1920, President Harding cut federal spending by over 60% and cut taxes so that the depression only lasted about one year.

That depression of 1920 – 1921 was pretty bad. Inflation was over 20 percent, the war debt was a huge burden and unemployment peaked at nearly 12 percent. Still, Harding didn’t address it with any “Cash for Clunkers” plan. By 1923, unemployment was down to around 2.4 percent.

Six years into our “Great Recession, the “big government” faithful never mention this historical fact.

Democrats don’t need to defend any of their positions.

Democrats don’t need to negotiate because Republicans have lost not only the argument; they’ve lost access to the podium.

Two nationally respected liberal reporters, Time Magazine’s Mark Halperin and the legendary Seymour Hersh have both spoken of their journalism colleagues’ obedience to the President.

As noted at Breitbart.com, “when asked (on the MSNBC Morning Joe program) if President Obama had an incentive to negotiate with the GOP, Halperin explained that, ‘The White House does not have much incentive. They think the trends are going to go their direction at the end of the week, or early next week at the latest, because again, the press is largely sympathetic to their arguments on this.'”

Yes, Mark Halperin confessed that the press will not do their job of committing journalism because they agree with the President.

Seymour Hersh tells the more precise inconvenient truth about today’s national journalists in comments to “The Guardian”:

The New York Times spends “so much more time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would.”

American journalists are “pathetic, they are more obsequious, they are afraid to pick on this guy (President Obama). “… they work out how to re-elect the President.”

This is from the investigative reporter who hates Republicans so much he calls them terrorists.

My question to you: Which is more dangerous to freedom? A national press who can find no good in political leaders or a press that can find no wrong?
