Richard Mourdock’s Comments Prove He’s The Only Christian Pro-Lifer In The Race For The Indiana Senate

We already knew that: Richard Mourdock[1]: is a principled, fiscally responsible conservative. But, what this latest abortion controversy has proven is that he’s a full spectrum, Christian conservative who has the courage of his convictions.

“I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God. And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.” –: Richard Mourdock[2]

That statement, as opposed to the made-up liberal interpretations of what Mourdock said, is not radical, nor should it shock any real Christian or pro-lifer. What Christian believes a baby could be born without God’s consent? Moreover, real Pro-lifers may have honest disagreements about what how far the law should go to protect the lives of innocent children, but certainly anyone who values the life of unborn children should be able to agree that a baby doesn’t deserve to die just because his father is an evil person.

As: Marjorie Dannenfelser, the President of the Susan B. Anthony List said[3],

“Richard Mourdock said that life is always a gift from God, and we couldn’t agree more. To report his statement as an endorsement of rape is either willfully ignorant or malicious. Congressman Donnelly should not underestimate our ability to understand Mourdock’s meaning. During the same debate, the Congressman once again claimed that he was a pro-life candidate. Actions speak louder than words, and Joe Donnelly’s vote forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions under Obamacare is all Hoosiers need to know about where Joe Donnelly really stands.”

Mourdock’s opponent Joe Donnelly is trying to make a big deal over Mourdock’s comments, even though he laughably also claims to be pro-life. Of course, a lot of Democrats claim to be pro-life. But, when push comes to shove and their vote is needed, they always throw the baby under the bus just like Joe Donnelly did with Obamacare. Phonies like Donnelly campaign as moderate, fiscally responsible, pro-life Democrats and then when they get into office, they vote just like the liberal Democrats every time the Left needs their vote.

Let me also note that if Joe Donnelly has such a big problem with what Mourdock said, then maybe he should explain to Rebecca why the world would be better off without her in it.

Richard Mourdock[1]: beat Dick Lugar by standing tall for the principles that the Tea Party supports and now he’s under attack because he makes no apologies for being a pro-life Christian. Well, I think conservatives should make no apologies for supporting a man who’d be one of the best men this country could have in the Senate.
