Black Scientist Wins Miss USA – Breaks the Internet By Saying… [VIDEO]

Ms. Kara McCullough won the Miss USA crown. She’s black, stunningly beautiful and… a nuclear scientist. So, of course, she was breathlessly asked during the pageant whether healthcare was a right or a privilege. Refreshingly, she said her opinion was that it was a privilege. Ding! Ding! Ding! Give the beauty pageant winner even more accolades. She’s right… constitutionally, it is a privilege, not a right. Twitter proceeded to meltdown over this as if she had committed heresy and should be burned at the stake. Geez.

So, McCullough is not the progressive they were looking for. She also believes that women should be equal to men in science and the workplace, but she’s also not the feminist they were looking for either. Nice. I hate the politically-charged questions now pushed at these pageants anymore, but Kara causing a liberal meltdown was just glorious. She makes conservatives and those with more than two brain cells proud.

From The Washington Post:

“In typical beauty pageant fashion, the Q&A portion required contestants to address controversial issues. McCullough’s answers to both questions — about health-care and feminism — sparked debate on social media. The first query: “Do you think affordable health-care for all U.S. citizens is a right or a privilege and why?”

“I’m definitely going to say it’s a privilege,” McCullough responded. “As a government employee, I am granted health-care. And I see firsthand that for one to have health-care, you need to have jobs. So therefore, we need to continue to cultivate this environment that we’re given the opportunities to have health-care as well as jobs to all the American citizens worldwide.”

The reaction on Twitter was immediate. Same with her second question: “What do you consider feminism to be, and do you consider yourself a feminist?”

“So as a woman scientist in the government, I’d like to lately transpose the word feminism to equalism,” McCullough said as members of the audience cheered. “I don’t really want to consider myself — try not to consider myself like this die-hard, you know, like, ‘Oh, I don’t really care about men.’ But one thing I’m gonna say, though, is women, we are just as equal as men when it comes to opportunity in the workplace.”

Gee, an incredibly beautiful, conservative nuclear scientist wins a beauty pageant and the world burns down over it. Seriously? This isn’t scandalous… it means she’s sane, y’all. The viciousness towards Kara on Twitter is disgusting. And it shows just how misinformed, biased and frankly, stupid leftists are.

Jobs aren’t a right either. You have the right to the pursuit of happiness… what you do with it is up to you. But no one owes anyone out there a damned thing. It’s all up to us individually to make of our lives what we will and Kara gets that. She’s way more than just a pretty face.
