GUN CONTROL… Georgia Democrats Introduce a Gun Confiscation Bill Targeting Assault Weapons

Georgia has a serious problem.[1] Democrats there have introduced a bill in that state that, as Bob Owens says, is “A Bill to Get Every Democrat In Georgia Tarred and Feathered[2].” The bill would outlaw millions of common semi-automatic firearms, standard-capacity magazines and define a wide-range of bullets as “armor-piercing,” including brass bullets that are becoming increasingly popular for big-game hunting and other lead bullet alternatives. The bill bans “assault weapons” and opens the door for the “seizure” of such weapons, along with accessories like “high capacity” magazines. It would in effect turn millions of Georgia gun owners into felons when they refuse to turn in or “render permanently inoperable” their lawfully purchased guns, magazines and ammunition. This is the beginning of gun confiscation here in the US and we had better put a stop to it.

Confiscation[3]

From TheBlaze:

Six Democrats in Georgia’s state House of Representatives unveiled a bill on Jan. 11 that would “require seizure” of “certain weaponry and ammunition” that is deemed as contraband, effectively banning “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines.”

HB 731, which is sponsored by Mary Margaret Oliver, Carolyn Hugley, Pat Gardiner, Stacey Abrams, Dar’shun Kendrick and Dee Dawkins-Haigler, would amend current law[4] to “prohibit the possession, sale, transport, distribution or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.”

The text of the bill goes on to say that certain weapons would be required to be seized by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, with increased penalties for use and possession of machine guns, among other related regulations.

The text of HB 731 proclaims that the sale, possession or distribution of “any assault weapon” will come at a profound cost. “No person shall possess, distribute, transport, transfer, or sell any assault weapon,” it reads. “Any person who distributes, transports, or imports an assault weapon into this state shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than two nor more than ten years.” If that bill goes through, a whole lot of people will go to jail and it could force police to become enemies of law-abiding constitutionalists. Most won’t willingly give up their guns, regardless of what the law says in Georgia. Pro-Second Amendment group Georgia Carry responded to HB 731 by tweeting, “Dems finally honest about gun control, their ultimate goal is confiscation.” The mask is coming off now. Republicans outnumber Democrats in the Georgia legislature 2 to 1, so this will most likely go nowhere, but it does show their real intentions.
