No. The govt cannot make you to purchase anything from a private company. This wouldnt be the first time the govt did something that the constitution forbids though. Its what you get when you elect career lawyer politicians.

this is something that is going to come back to bite the dems in the ass… reid gave sweetheart deals to a few senators that held out on the healthcare bill.. while the other dem senators towed the line for reid and the president.. no questions asked… they supported the bill no matter what was in it… and now… they are seeing.. hey .. if I hold out.. I can get a few hundred million to a billion dollars too… and now.. in future negotiations that the dems are going to make… how many senators do you think are going to hold legislation up to get themselves some of that payola? How do youthink the dems are going to do with future bills? how much is it going to cost the american people to pay off dems to get legislation passed… we have the cap and trade bill coming up… can you imagine how many dems are going to hold out and how much its going to cost the american people…

the dems really really really screwed themselves with these bribery sweetheart deals… this will put the dems in a whole new catagory of swindlers….

Liberals have decided that the definition of “constitutional” is, when you come right down to it, “whatever THEY want.”

The electoral tidal wave coming their way will be SO epic, it will shape American politics for decades to come.

The universal coverage mandate is unconstitutional because the government has no authority to impose it, the fine for not having coverage is unconstitutional as a capitance, earmark spending has always been unconstitutional unless it fulfills one of the specific tasks of the Federal government, and the shameless buying of votes is unconstitutional and rates impeachment for the Congressmen involved.

Ben Nelson should be in prison (along with anyone else paid off in the bill) and this abomination should be stricken down by the Supreme Court the instant Obama puts his pen to it if it passes.

No, this goes beyond impeachment and prison. This type of tyrany has a punishment. Back ‘em to a wall and air ‘em out. Maybe the next batch will get the point, but if not, well, rinse and repeat. Only one way to deal with a tyrant.
