Environmental Wack-o-Doodle James Lee Goes Gonzo In Maryland
Written By : Melissa Clouthier

But his gun wielding, hostage-taking crazy is most certainly NOT motivated by politics. He’s just, you know, crazy. Because crazy people do things when they’re on the left–they have good intentions, don’t you know, they just go a wee bit too far.

James Lee’s MySpace Account is titled WorldGuardian: love the world, hate people.

He was born June 1, 1967. He has a history of arrests at Discovery.

He follows the work of Enviro-crazy Daniel Quinn.

Here’s the account of an evacuee. There are more hostages currently.

UPDATED:

Michelle Malkin has the crazy man’s manifesto (Note to self: write a manifesto). Here’s a choice example:

2. All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs’ places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it.

Dude just set a new standard for the whackjob manifesto. Wow.

  • http://conservativebootcamp.com Martin Hale

I'd suggest you all get very used to this type of story – it's the inevitable result of having thousands of “experts” using the whole arsenal of modern mass communications tools to make everything humans do appear to be wrong and anti-nature. Look for it to happen to a lot of kids who've been raised on “green/anti-human” propaganda their whole lives. Many of the marginal ones will include this sort of anti-humanism in their thinking, and we're sure to see a whole bunch more of this aberration. It's the neurosis/psychosis/delusion of the 00's, fed by Al Gore, James Hansen, the UN IPCC and a cast of hundreds of newspaper and teevee reporters.

Oh, and I just read that Mr. Lee reported being “awakened” by viewing Mr. Gore's film. Of course it's not Mr. Gore's fault directly, you understand. Mr. Lee is just a casualty in the bigger war to control the minutiae of your daily life.

Too bad Mr. Lee couldn't have taken an affirmative step in the fight to reduce the impact of humanity on the Earth. Why didn't he use his passion to organise the first annual Eco-Moonbat Lemming Leap. I envision the event to be sort of like Red Bull Flugtag, only no fake planes are used; the jump is 300 ft, not 30 ft; there's no obligatory dance act at the top of the jumping platform; and coffins are optional.

    • UFKA_Smithwick

If he'd been “awakened” to commit acts of violence by Beck you can be sure the narrative would be quite different.

  • mightysamurai

And of course, Thinkprogress.org lost no time in trying to paint him as a rightwinger.

    • Hotspur1

Because lefties cannot imagine their side being in the wrong. The comments on the site are noticeably detached from reality. How can you blame Fox News? How does Fox even play a role in this? More importantly, how can this be related to conservative philosophy? Those guys need lessons in logic. To purport that a rabid environmentalist who proposes culling humanity to conservative ideology requires a detachment from reality that is nearly beyond help.

    • Mahatma

      Thanks for the link.

      • mightysamurai

I thought you might enjoy a dose of illogic and lies. You need to meet your daily quota, after all.

      • Meekrob

So now you'll know what to thi… excuse me, HOW TO FEEL about it all.

  • Hotspur1

This is the natural result of the environmental movement, a movement that seeks to curb the progress of humanity. Either directly or indirectly, such people wind up promoting the death of human beings.

    • Trench_Raider

Not only that, but it's the logical end-game of the left's poisonous philosophy of “I am morally justified in defying any law I happen to disagree with strongly enough”. It's the temper tantrum of “civil disobedience” and the low level criminality of “direct action” taken to their logical extremes. It's the line of thought that brought us the Weather Underground terrorists and countless other.

There is a reason that in today's world politically motivated violence is almost entrely a leftist thing. Despite we on the right being out of power right now and thus having a bigger political axe to grind, our having a higher instance of private firearm ownership, etc this sort of behavior is almost unknown amongst right wingers. This is because we on the right have a strong belief in the rule of law and generally strive to follow it even when we disagree with an individual statute and are raised to have a strong deference to legitimate authority figures. Leftists, on the other hand, have been taught to bristle at any authority and to resent having to follow any rules. It's the “do your own thing, man!” mindset and it's logical extreme.

      TR

  • President Friedman

He could have just gone after the Dugger family, but there are probably more of them than there are Discovery/TLC employees.

Here's hoping the authorities put this rabid dog out of its misery.

    • blkdragon

      They did.

      • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

From what I understand he was shot but still alive.

  • The Karma Hoser

….And yet the lefties go around screaming that WE'RE the nutjobs!!
That whole nutjob rant reeks of leftist talking points!!

  • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

I sometimes wonder if Al Gore isn't one happy meal short of going Kaszinsky too sometimes.

  • President Friedman

You know, I generally don't support blaming political figures and talking heads for the actions of crazy people, and I still don't. But hopefully this will give Al Gore something to think about the next time he wants to talk about how the Global Warming situation is so pressing that exaggerated claims and hyperbolic rhetoric are justified if they gets results.

  • UFKA_Smithwick

I wonder how differently this would be spun if he had some extremely tangential relationship with a tea party.

He'd go from lone nut to representative of an entire movement.

  • tblrk2006

pro abortion mixed with environazism…..a good leftist

    • Meekrob

      Right, the dead kind.

      • Trench_Raider

        Flagged.

I despise leftist thought as much as anyone here. But wishing them dead is not something we should do.

We are better than that. You are probably a parody troll in any event…

        TR

        • Meekrob

I'm not but fuck you very much.

          • Trench_Raider

Charming language. It betrays a wonderful maturity level you have there.

I just read that Mr. Lee died of wounds inflicted by the police. Looks like he got his wish. I feel badly for the officer who has to deal with the emotional burden of taking him out.

    • Mahatma

I also feel badly for his parents and siblings.

      • http://conservativebootcamp.com Martin Hale

I'd feel badly for them if I knew they'd continually tried to get him the help he obviously needed but failed because he resisted. If they'd given up on him, or let him slip into the arms of insanity and delusion without making a yeoman's effort to get him to resist his downward slide in the first place, then my sympathies are in much shorter supply.

While it may sound cruel to you, I worked as a psychologist in a Community Mental Health setting for a number of years and I've witnessed hundreds of families who've kept severely mentally ill family members around to collect the SSI cheques, without ever caring enough to bring said mentally ill person in for help.

One of the cases I remember vividly was a woman who's family absolutely refused to a)take part in her treatment, b)make sure the woman took her meds, and c)drive her ten miles to treatment. After a few years of a downwardly spiraling mental state, this woman decided to attempt crossing a busy interstate at rush hour on foot. She was struck by three different cars and killed. I happened to know one of the people who hit her, and she was severely traumatised by the event – the woman's mangled corpse came to rest on her windscreen, all bloody and minus one leg. It was one case, but it was exemplary of the lack care some families show for their “loved one”.

So excuse me but I'll hold my sympathies for Mr. Lee's family in reserve until I know a bit more about how they treated him as his condition worsened.

      • UFKA_Smithwick

His parents obviously failed him horribly. It seems likely they deserve to be somewhat remorseful.

  • http://www.conservativesense.com Conservative Sense

To any environmental whackos reading this. One quick and easy way to lessen the global population while helping out the wildlife is to walk into a woods without anyone knowing, and take yourself out. One less person to “destroy” the earth, and there will be plenty of wildlife feeding on your carcass.

Maryland police have now permanently placed his carbon footprint at zero.

  • baoxian

Hey, we're always asking these lefties to practice what they preach. This one did. Fortunately nobody else was harmed in the process.

  • TheDickNixon

Think of it as evolution in action.

  • http://www.thepiratescove.us/ William_Teach

I love how so many on the Left are trying to brand Lee as a Righty. Alan Colmes gave it the complete “I only see what I want to see try.”

Was going to cross post some of the idiocy here at RWN, but, see that Dr. M has it well covered.

  • Georgiana

We can blame the hate speak of that hater, Al Gore, for this.

After all, I'm sure the Left would have blamed Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck had the gunman been Conservative.

  • Georgiana

Oh, I just read some of the earlier comments and see that Al Gore's “science” actually did encourage the gunman.

  • Mr. Derp

How empty does your life have to be for this to seem like a good idea? Everybody's been tempted by violence. “take what you want, especially revenge” is a a universal human fantasy. But how many people's ugly power fantasy is: “take over a TV station, force them to support negative population Growth.”? It's both insane and ineffectual, like an eight year old trying to reverse the cancellation of ALF.

Where was his family? Didn't anybody notice he was descending into Timecube levels of insanity?

James Lee Manifesto, Part Deux (hat tip to Sammy-ri)

Programs must be developed to find solutions to stopping ALL immigration pollution and the anchor baby filth that follows that.

EcoTerrorist, sounds like an unhinged teabagger, too.

    • AF_Vet

Really? The 'teabaggers' are against 'immigration?'

      Do tell.

As far as I can tell, they–like most of America–are against ILLEGAL Immigration.

      But, whatever.

      • mightysamurai

Don't confuse Mahatma with facts. They make his tiny brain hurt.

        • anwatkins

Come on….he has to spin it to somehow deflect SOMETHING onto some sort of non left wing movement. If that cannot be done, then Mr. Lee's actions will always be associated only with the extreme left's environmental policies.

        • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

Tiny brain implies he has more than brain cell. I'm inclined to believe he only has one cell and it can only be tasked to one concept at a time.

    • UFKA_Smithwick

You find one line out of his screed that bears no resemblance to any tea-party platform and use that as proof that he is a member of the tea-party?

The guy is a typical “sterilize all humans to save gaia” leftwing environmentalist nutbag. Only difference is he's using a gun whereas those sorts typically go with bombs.

    • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

His problem is not with immigration but with childbirth in general. Incidentally, his manifesto doesn't include the word “anchor,” at least in the copy I saw.

  • http://gravelle.us J. Gravelle

    James Lee's Democrat Rating : A-

    He wasn't a Lee-publican
    http://gravelle.us/node/34

…and yeah, I'm going there. You think if he were a right-wing lunatic the press wouldn't be beating us over the head with his manifesto and tying his actions to his politics?

This one's all on you and yours, Olbermann. Bask in the warm, fuzzy glow of guilt-by-association (or comradery, as it were)…
