Father murdered his 2-year-old by squeezing her to death over wife’s Facebook posts

Here’s the latest example of social networking bringing out people’s dark sides and worst instincts. A Washington man killed his toddler after finding his wife with another man and reading her “questionable” Facebook posts.

He then tried to kill himself.

A father squeezed his two-year-old daughter to death to get back at his estranged wife for upsetting messages she wrote on Facebook, prosecutors have said.

Salvador Sanchez-Orozco, 26, appeared in court in Pierce County, Washington on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to murdering his daughter, Daveena, at his home on Wednesday.

Sanchez-Orozco, who was wearing a suicide prevention suit, allegedly killed his daughter after splitting from his wife, Faye, and learning she was spending time with another man.

Prosecutors suggested he was also upset after seeing ‘questionable’ comments on her Facebook account in January, The News Tribune reported. They did not reveal the contents of the messages.

Despite the split, he continued to look after Daveena on a regular basis but on Tuesday, he made an unscheduled visit to his wife’s home – and discovered she was spending time with another man.

On Wednesday, he returned to Faye’s home to pick up his daughter, even though it was not his scheduled day. Her family – who said they never had any inkling Sanchez would hurt his daughter – allowed him to take the little girl.

Two hours later, he called 911 and told a dispatcher he had killed his daughter and was going to commit suicide.

When deputies arrived minutes later, he was able to open the door but they found him covered with blood with a leash around his next, court papers said.

What a horrible story, and not a very good advertisement for American culture.
