It Turns Out That Huma Abedin’s Lawyer Was In The Thick Of The Benghazi Mess

The incestuousness of the Clinton camp appears bottomless, and the more of Hillary Clinton’s emails become public the more it looks like she was running a criminal conspiracy at the State Department.

No wonder those emails weren’t on a government server[1]…

News regarding Hillary Clinton and Benghazi continues to get worse for her. A new report revealed that the lawyer for Clinton aide Huma Abedin was once a “point person” on Benghazi for the Obama administration.

Miguel Rodriguez handled classified information, including redacted emails with Clinton, according to a 2013 report by The Washington Post[2]. Rodriguez began working for Clinton in 2005, serving first as her chief counsel.

In 2011, Rodriguez moved on to legislative matters, where he handled primarily foreign affairs and national security issues. These issues would no doubt include dealing with Congress in the aftermath of the attack on the U.S. consulate[3] in Benghazi, Libya.

“Once the attack piqued the interests of lawmakers, there were dozens of hearings, some of them classified,” The Post reported.

“Senators and representatives had reports to review and questions they wanted answered about Benghazi. With the integrity and reputations of both Obama and Clinton on the line, Rodriguez emerged as a behind-the-scenes point person, colleagues said,” according to the story.

Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines told The Post, “Miguel was not just in the thick of it; he was at the forefront of it. It was just an around-the-clock effort, and we leaned on Miguel as if he never left State.”

On October 28, 2010, Rodriguez included Abedin in a group email with subject line “Baby,” which Abedin forwarded to Clinton. That email was completely redacted when the State Department released some of Clinton’s emails earlier this year.

Rodriguez also offered advice to Clinton’s top aide Cheryl Mills and top Clinton staffer Jacob Sullivan on matters that were eventually forwarded to Clinton.

As a quick bonus, if Philippe Reines’ name  rings a bell it’s because he was the dummy responsible, according to POLITICO[4], for the mistranslation of the insipid “reset” button Hillary Clinton embarrassingly presented to Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in 2009. One would think such a colossal bungle would cost a high-ranking State Department official his career – but Reines knows where too many of the bodies are buried for any real accountability.
