OUTRAGEOUS: Parents Arrested After Son Seen Playing Basketball Alone IN HIS OWN YARD for 90 Minutes

Once more we see the war on parents being perpetrated by our out of control government agencies. This time two parents in Florida were arrested, put in jail, and their kids taken from them for a week because their oldest son had been seen playing basketball in front of the family home for *gasp* 90 minutes… ALL BY HIMSELF (end of sarcasm).

What happened is that the parents were stuck in traffic during one of those Florida torrential downpours and their son didn’t have a key to the house. So, for 90 minutes he played basketball in his own driveway and waited for mom and dad to come home.

But some nosy, good-for-nothing neighbor called the cops claiming the boy was being “neglected” and once the parents got home they were arrested.

One afternoon this past April, a Florida mom and dad I’ll call Cindy and Fred could not get home in time to let their 11-year-old son into the house. The boy didn’t have a key, so he played basketball in the yard. He was alone for 90 minutes. A neighbor called the cops, and when the parents arrived—having been delayed by traffic and rain—they were arrested for negligence.

They were put in handcuffs, strip searched, fingerprinted, and held overnight in jail.

It would be a month before their sons—the 11-year-old and his 4-year-old brother—were allowed home again. Only after the eldest spoke up and begged a judge to give him back to his parents did the situation improve.

I spoke with Cindy about her family’s horrible ordeal.

“My older one was the so-called ‘victim,'” she said during a phone interview. But since she and her husband were charged with felony neglect, the younger boy had to be removed from the home, too.

The parents eventually got their kids back. But that isn’t the end of the situation. They are still stuck paying massive fees, attorney costs, and are being forced to take “parenting classes,” go to therapy, and send their kids to therapy–all at the parents’ expense!

There was a day when neighbors would just have told the boy to flop at their house while waiting for mom and dad to come home. But this is the day when every jerk out there has to involve the cops in every little incident.

We need to go back to the day that involving cops in some small incident was thought of as embarrassing.

Me, I’d make the neighbor pay all the costs involved in this because it is his fault in the first place.

Meanwhile, inner city families are pumping out kids, letting them join gangs and do drugs, and refusing to send them to school and the government does nothing.

This country has seriously taken the wrong path.
