To Catch A Liberal Predator: Scott Ritter Edition
Written By : John Hawkins

Remember Scott Ritter? He was once a tough talking weapons inspector who was deeply skeptical that Saddam Hussein had gotten rid of his WMDs. Then, without explanation, his position shifted on a dime to “Hussein could have WMDs? That’s crazy talk. Who could believe that?” At the end of the day, Ritter’s new position proved to be half right and half wrong: Saddam did have active WMD programs and pre-Gulf War WMDs, but no new WMD stockpiles.

In any case, liberals LOVED THEM some Scott Ritter. Unfortunately, life out of the anti-war spotlight doesn’t look to have gone so well for Ritter

Ritter, 48, allegedly masturbated in front of a Web camera while he was engaged in conversation in an Internet chat room with an undercover cop posing as the teenage girl.

…Ritter, of Delmar, N.Y., allegedly told the girl, “Emily,” that he was a 44-year-old man from Albany, N.Y., according to an affidavit of probable cause.:

Ritter then sent a link to his Web camera and began to masturbate while it was focused on his genitals, according to the affidavit. The former U.N. official then allegedly provided his cell phone number.

“He then continued to masturbate on web cam and he again asked how old I was,” the affidavit continued. “He was advised again that I was 15 years old. He said he didn’t realize that I was 15 years old and turned off his web camera. He stated that he didn’t want to get in trouble.”

Ritter then allegedly told the “girl” that he fantasized about having sex with her, to which the officer replied, “guess u turned it off [no problem].”

Ritter then asked the girl if she “want[ed] to see it finish” before reactivating his Web camera and ejaculating, the affidavit read.

…Ritter was reportedly charged in a June 2001 sex sting in New York, but the case was dismissed. He had been charged with attempted child endangerment after arranging to meet a person he thought was a 16-year-old girl at a fast-food restaurant. The girl was actually an undercover police officer.

The New York Post reported Ritter was caught in a similar case in April 2001 involving a 14-year-old girl, but he was never charged.

So, do you think this knocks Ritter out of a potential job with the Obama Administration? I mean, he’d fit right in working for Obama’s Safe Schools Czar, Kevin “the fist” Jennings. Keep hope alive, Scott!

I’m sure blackmail had absolutely nothing to do with his sudden 180 on Saddam and WMDs.

I’m sure blackmail had absolutely nothing to do with his sudden 180 on Saddam and WMDs.

That, and the $400,000 Ritter took from Shakir al-Khafaji, close friend and associate of Saddam Hussein, to make his fake-umentary “Shifting Sands.”

Interesting article but a bit ambiguous. I would like to find out more information. I am getting a little lost in the time line.
A NY Times article is dated 12/27/02 talking about the release of the movie.
    http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/review?res=9C06E4D6103CF934A15751C1A9649C8B63
The NY Times is reporting that Shakir al-Khafaji is an “Iraqi-American businessman.” That would mean they, the NYTimes, was reporting he was an American of Iraqi descent.
Cav, where did you find the information on “Shakir al-Khafaji, close friend and associate of Saddam Hussein”?

“Ritter was reportedly charged in a June 2001 sex sting in New York”
“Ritter was caught in a similar case in April 2001 involving a 14-year-old girl”

The Iraq military campaign began on March 20, 2003. Which way is the article saying he was blackmailed? This was the justification for the war, “Possession of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) posed a threat to their security and that of their coalition/regional allies.”

Is the article saying he lied and he said they had WMD and didn’t? Or is the article saying they had WMD and he said they didn’t, because he was blackmailed into saying they didn’t? We now know what was, and was not found, but this looks like ammo for the left.
