You Bet The FBI Was Behind The James Holmes’ Shooting? And I Bet It Wasn’t!
This completely speculative, somewhat moronic conspiracy theory about last week-end’s shooting has shown up a disturbing number of times in my Facebook feed.
Colorado Batman shooting shows obvious signs of being staged
…According to news reports, this sudden violent rampage was completely out of character for James Holmes, who was described as “shy.”
….There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three)
…Holmes was clearly provided with exotic gear (and bomb-making skills)
…FBI has a track record of staging similar assaults, then stopping them at the last minute
This is not your run-of-the-mill crime of passion. It was a carefully planned, heavily funded and technically advanced attack. Who might be behind all this? The FBI, of course, which has a long history of setting up and staging similar attacks, then stopping them right before they happen.
…Question: How does an unemployed medical student afford $20,000 in weapons gear?
….A decent AR-15 rifle costs $1,000 or more all by itself. The shotgun and handgun might run another $800 total. Spare mags, sights, slings, and so on will run you at least another $1,000 across three firearms. The bullet-proof vest is easily another $800, and the cost of the bomb-making gear is anybody’s guess. With all the specialty body gear, ammunition, booby-trap devices and more, I’m guessing this is at least $20,000 in weapons and tactical gear, much of which is very difficult for civilians to get in the first place.
….Staged just in time for a vote on the UN small arms treaty?
…All this looks like James Holmes completed a “mission” and then calmly ended that mission by surrendering to police and admitting everything. The mission, as we are now learning, was to cause as much terror and mayhem as possible, then to have that multiplied by the national media at exactly the right time leading up the UN vote next week on a global small arms treaty that could result in gun confiscation across America.
Wow, this guy has it all figured out! Obviously the FBI hypnotized James Holmes, provided him with gear, and sent him to kill as many people as possible in a theater in order to help push through a UN small arms treaty!
Except there’s zero evidence that any of this is true; despite claims to the contrary, the FBI has never done anything even remotely like this before and there’s zero chance that the UN small arms treaty could get through the Senate.
But, what other explanation could there possibly be?
Well, maybe Holmes was detatched because he’s a sociopath who doesn’t feel any more remorse for killing another human being than you would for killing a bug. Maybe he figured out how to put together the booby traps on the net and practiced with the guns. That doesn’t seem impossible since he was apparently extremely intelligent. As to the cost of his gear, maybe his parents gave him the money, he cashed in savings account, or sold a car to pay for it.
As to this being out of character for Holmes, isn’t that what’s always said about these guys? Oh, he seemed quiet — kept to himself, maybe was a little strange.
But you may ask, why would someone like Holmes who potentially had a bright future ahead do something like this?
Ever heard of Leopold and Loeb?
On May 21, 1924, two brilliant, wealthy, Chicago teenagers attempted to commit the perfect crime just for the thrill of it. Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb kidnapped 14-year-old Bobby Franks, bludgeoned him to death in a rented car, and then dumped Franks’ body in a distant culvert.
Although they thought their plan was foolproof, Leopold and Loeb made a number of mistakes that led police right to them. The subsequent trial, featuring famous attorney Clarence Darrow, made headlines and was often referred to as “the trial of the century.”
…Nathan Leopold was brilliant. He had an IQ of over 200 and excelled at school. By age 19, Leopold had already graduated from college and was in law school. Leopold was also fascinated with birds and was considered an accomplished ornithologist. However, despite being brilliant, Leopold was very awkward socially.
Richard Loeb was also very intelligent, but not to the same calibre as Leopold. Loeb, who had been pushed and guided by a strict governess, had also been sent to college at a young age. However, once there, Loeb did not excel; instead, he gambled and drank. Unlike Leopold, Loeb was considered very attractive and had impeccable social skills.
It was at college that Leopold and Loeb became close friends. Their relationship was both stormy and intimate. Leopold was obsessed with the attractive Loeb. Loeb, on the other hand, liked having a loyal companion on his risky adventures.
The two teenagers, who had become both friends and lovers, soon began committing small acts of theft, vandalism, and arson. Eventually, the two decided to plan and commit the “perfect crime.”
It’s not quite the same thing, but yet and still, here you have not one, but two “brilliant, wealthy” teenagers killing someone for the “thrill of it.” Maybe Holmes committed his crime for the same reason. Maybe he wanted to become famous and this was the only way he knew to do it.
In any case, even though we may never get a real answer to the question, “Why?” — where the guns came from, how he figured out how to rig explosives, etc., is likely to eventually come out — and guess what? You can lay money down that the answer won’t be a FBI plot to get a small arms treaty passed.
It took a lot of guts to do what this young man did. They also offered him 20k in hush money. Fabulous. The proof in my opinion here is that...Read More
