5 ½ Month-Old Baby Girl Found Comatose After Possible Assault From Mom’s Boyfriend

Innocent till proven guilty, but that child did not hurt herself obviously. Child abuse is heinous no matter who does it. Anyone committing such atrocities against children should be thrown in the deepest, darkest pit available and left there to rot. If there is a ravenous lion in the pit, so much the better… just sayin’. I’m a firm believer in the death penalty. Even if this baby girl comes out of the coma, she may never be right again. Another little one succumbs to the whims of a monster.[1]

JOSHUA TREE, Calif. – A Marine stationed at the 29 Palms Marine Corps Base is facing charges of assaulting his girlfriend’s 5 1/2-month-old daughter, leaving her in a comatose state.

The infant was taken to High Desert Medical Center in a coma on Wednesday, November 19, suffering from a brain hemorrhage, according to officials with the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Department. The baby was then flown to Loma Linda Medical University Children’s Hospital.

Doctors said she was in a comatose state as a result of her injuries. Detectives from the Crimes Against Children unit were called to investigate.

Through the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as 24-year-old John Rafeal Jeter, the boyfriend of the infant’s mother.

Jeter was arrested on November 21 after being interviewed by investigators.

He was booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino for assault resulting in death, comatose state, or paralysis of a child under eight years of age.

Jeter is being held on $500,000 bail. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on December 9 in Morongo Basin Superior Court, according to the sheriff’s release.

Mommy should have been more careful who she picked for a boyfriend. A brain hemorrhage most likely means she had the hell punched out of her little head, or that it was slammed on something. If this Marine did this, no punishment is too severe for this animal. How could a baby make you so furious that you would do this to her? The enemy on the battlefield is one thing… a thug on the street – take your best shot… but a little child? One in diapers who couldn’t protect herself from anything or anyone? A demon crossed her path and now she is somewhere between life and death. Justice demands nothing less than the full force of the consequences rained down on the perpetrator. A uniform is not a shield and a child is not a punching bag.
