BREAKING: Cliven Bundy Gets BAD News… Please Pray
The left is simply despicable and the site Crooks and Liars is a perfect example of their hate-filled vileness. They are literally Snoopy-dancing over Cliven Bundy being taken into custody along with his sons Ammon and Ryan. They were just indicted on ‘massive armed assault’ charges against federal officers in connection to the 2014 standoff at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada. The Bundys and two others were indicted yesterday in connection to the fight between them and the BLM over land and grazing rights in Nevada. Bundy walked straight into a trap in Oregon laid by the feds to take him down the minute he disembarked from a plane there to support his sons who were just arrested for being involved in another standoff with the BLM. They are charged with 16 felony counts, including conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States and conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer. This is simply an outrage and tyrannical in the extreme.
From Crooks and Liars:
It may have been a long time coming, but good things are often worth the wait. The now-unsealed indictment against Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Ryan Payne and Pete Santilli is one of those good things, and it appears this indictment concerns the 2014 standoff in Nevada. We have yet to see the full set of charges relating to the Malheur Reserve.
Although all but Cliven Bundy were initially charged with one felony when they were arrested, the indictment lays out many more charges against them — 16 in all for each of them.
It begins by describing the conspiracy as a “massive armed assault against federal enforcement officers that occurred in and around Bunkerville, Nevada, on April 12, 2014.”
The feds and the powers-that-be in Nevada are claiming this is a win for justice and the law. It’s more of a win for fascists and government overreach if you ask me. This dispute over land rights in the west is not going away. That land should belong to the states and to the respective ranchers and home owners that purchase it legally. Many of these families have had these ranches in their families for more than a hundred years. Yet, the BLM waltzes in and claims the land. That’s just criminal theft. The whole Oregon confrontation was ill-conceived and a mistake. It wasn’t originally about land rights, but a legal battle over burning off undergrowth to protect cattle and crops. Those ranchers were treated horribly, but it is not the same issue. Now, an Arizona rancher is dead and people who thought they were doing the right thing are in prison. No one won here… in fact, it hurt the patriot movement. But it certainly didn’t kill it. This is just he beginning. According to the indictment, Cliven Bundy was the ‘leader, organizer and chief beneficiary’ of the conspiracy and assault. Ammon Bundy, 40, and Ryan Bundy, 43, are alleged to have recruited followers, threatening and using force against federal law enforcement officials, among other charges. Pete Santilli is accused of rallying supporters via his independent online radio show and Payne is accused of organizing a network of militant groups in defense of the Nevada conspirators. If convicted of all 16 charges, each defendant could face up to 96 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 per count. A conviction could also mean the five men would have to surrender arms and ammunition used in the assault and could result in the seizure of property at a total value of at least $3 million. This is just wrong on so many fronts. If the government is not careful, these men will be viewed as martyrs and they’ll have an insurgent civil revolt on their hands.
