Friends Don’t Let Friends Tattoo Candidate Logos On Their Face

I don’t know Eric Hartsburg. If I did, I would have pleaded with him not to do this for ANY amount of money.

Eric Hartsburg had better hope GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney wins the upcoming election or it could be a long four years.

The 30-year-old professional wrestler auctioned off a 5-by-2-inch patch of his face for $15,000. In exchange, he tattooed Romney’s presidential campaign logo on the right side of his head.

Hartsburg told ABC News that he posted an ad on eBay and a user agreed to pay him the $15,000 to get the Romney logo branded on his head. The eBay user who paid for the ink has asked to remain anonymous.

“I am a registered Republican and a Romney supporter…I didn’t mind getting this tattoo because it is something that I could live with and it’s something that I believe in,” Hartsburg said.

First of all, there is no such thing as a cool face tat — even for a pro-wrestler. Now maybe, at some point, if there’s say, a zombie apocalypse or our society collapses into Mad Max world because of our overwhelming debt, face tattoos could become hip. Of course, if things go that far wrong, your tattoos are going to be the least of your problems anyway.

Then, there’s always the possibility that Romney could lose like this guy.

On the other hand, the person in the tattoo could turn out not to be quite as cool as you thought originally.

Of course, then there’s always the possibility that your guy could win and you could eventually grow to regret your choice anyway.

All that being said, I do hope Eric Hartsburg enjoys his tattoo, although I would strongly recommend that he set aside enough of that $15,000 to get a tattoo removal. Consider that to be high quality free advice from a friend.
