Horrific! Pack of Pit Bulls Maul Cousins… Tearing Off Woman’s Scalp in Feeding Frenzy

Warning graphic. This is simply one of the most gruesome dog attacks I have ever seen. These two poor girls, cousins aged 19 and 20, were out for a jog in rural Indiana. Suddenly, a pack of vicious pit bulls attacked them in what is being called a ‘feeding frenzy.’ The pictures of this one girl are horrific. The other girl lost 75% of her scalp and her hair will never grow back. However, she will live. She’s in stable condition, but her pictures were evidently too disturbing to even show. On the one cousin, you can see the bite and claw marks. They were savaged for half an hour before a woman happened by in her pickup truck, drove into the field and saved them by pulling them into the vehicle. They were lucky – no one ever comes up that road and that woman was a God send.

From the Daily Mail:

A vicious pack of pit bulls has mauled two women who were out for a run, ripping most of one of their scalps off in a horrific attack.

The two cousins were out jogging in Carroll County, Indiana, when the four ravenous dogs charged at them.

Running for their lives, the terrified women made a dash across a field to their home but the hounds caught up with them and took them to ground before tearing at their flesh in a 30-minute ‘feeding frenzy’.

The dogs savaged Isabella George and Rebekah Forgey, with the older cousin in a serious condition in hospital after the pit bulls bit off more than 75 per cent of her scalp and ripped muscle from her leg.

Miss Forgey, 20, is now in a stable condition in intensive care.

Miss George, 19, was also bitten from head to toe, with gruesome pictures revealing large bruises and deep puncture wounds all over her body.

The young women fought for half an hour with the dogs, whose owner tried to stop the attack on Thursday evening only to be bitten himself.

The bloodied women – and the owner – were only saved when a motorist who happened to pass by hauled them into her truck.

Police found the four dogs in the early hours of Friday morning and shot them dead.

Shena George, Isabella’s mother, told WTHR: ‘It is like a scene out of a horror movie. When I saw them they were covered in blood and just mauled. It was terrible.

‘Rebekah has 75 per cent of her scalp removed. She will not be able to grow her hair back. I didn’t know if Rebekah would make it.’

The younger victim’s father Derrick George added: ‘I’m just thankful she is alive. She has bite marks all over her body.’

Local sheriff Toby Leazenby said the dogs may have been so aggressive because they had not been fed by their owner Richard Darter.

Leazenby said: ‘This was described to me last night in essence as a feeding frenzy, and they were just doing everything they could to protect themselves from the dogs.’

He added that the joggers only escaped because the dogs scattered when the woman’s truck drove into the field, allowing her to help the bleeding women into her car.

The sheriff told the Lafayette Journal and Courier that the chances of the motorist driving along the remote country road at that exact moment were extremely small, calling it a ‘God send’.

‘I think that bought her a window of opportunity to actually get the girls and get them hurriedly into her vehicle.

‘Fortunately this individual had the mindset that she was going to save these girls and get them out of that situation.’

He called for prosecutors to bring charges against Darter, who has been cited before for not controlling his dogs, most recently in June.

The families’ church, the Life Gate Church, posted on Facebook: ‘The Forgey family has reported that Rebekah is in stable condition in the ICU. Please pray against infection in her wounds.

‘The dogs did not attack her beautiful face. They love you and thank you for caring so much.’

The owner tried to pull the dogs off the girls and they turned on him as well. When the police cornered the four dogs, they shot and killed them. That was the right thing to do. The dogs had a taste for human blood and flesh and were totally unafraid of them. They say the owner hadn’t fed the dogs and that is why they attacked. He had been warned on them before. I’m surprised these two girls survived. They must have fought like hell. Dogs will cripple you first, then take out your throat. It’s a miracle they came out of it as good as they did. Just a nightmare. Two Akitas attacked my daughter when she was about 10. I think they thought she was a pup, because where they bit, they did not tear. One bit her right by her right eye. There was blood everywhere. She was okay, but it’s a lesson that a dog attack can come out of nowhere and can take you down terrifyingly fast.
