MSNBC: Kids Don’t Need Fathers
Written By : Dave Blount

Father’s Day is coming up a week from Sunday. MSNBC has begun to honor it already — by proclaiming that fathers are needed only for their sperm:

Being raised by a same-sex couple is no hindrance to healthy psychological development, researchers say as the first generation of children conceived by lesbians through donor insemination is coming of age.

In fact, lesbian mothers rated their 17-year-olds higher in social and academic skills, and lower in rule-breaking and aggression, than did mothers of teenagers who also had a father.

Yet despite the agenda it so aggressively promotes, even MSNBC admits that

those teenagers who — according to their mothers — experienced homophobia and bullying did turn out to be more anxious and have more depressive symptoms than their peers. It wasn’t clear if the anxiety was a product of the bullying or if it was the other way around.

If I’m translating out of the liberalese correctly, this means that some of the kids had a hard time fitting in because their bizarre upbringing warped them into sexually perplexed freakazoids. Who would have thought?

Sociology deals more in horsefeathers than facts, but there is one sociological fact no serious person can deny: when the family falls apart, society falls apart. This is why our liberal overlords are willing to go to such perverse extremes to destroy it. After all, they can’t create utopia until they have “fundamentally transformed” American civilization out of their path.

Par usual, VH translates incorrectly. Any traumatized children of a same sex relationship who are subject to “homophobia and bullying” are the victims of bigots, and not the instigators of their predicament.

That explanation was conjecture “according to their mothers”. Of course if you ask the parent if they're doing a lousy job raising the kid they aren't going to say yes.

millennia of shared human experience and scores of studies have proven incontrovertibly that every child is far better off with a mother and a father. The problem is, that gets in the way of the whole “lesbians are perfectly normal and wonderful parents, while men are destructive monsters” narrative of the idiot left.

I'm not convinced homosexual couples can't raise good healthy kids (in fact I'm positive some can), but this study is about the biggest load of horse manure I've ever smelled. Polling mothers about how well-adjusted their kids are? Talk about bias! Why don't you ask their grandparents about how cute and smart the kids are while you're at it?!?!

“lesbian mothers rated their 17-year-olds higher in social and academic skills, and lower in rule-breaking and aggression”

Rather stupid to be basing conclusions from such a biased rating source. Oh, but “Each teenager also filled out an internet-based psychological questionnaire.” Why, that's all just so science-ey!

And could the lower rule-breaking be a result of no rules in place to be broken? Aggression is bad? All aggression? What kinds and who makes the classification?
Man, for self styled intellectuals the left as a whole are pretty dumb.

This tells me all I need to know about the quality of MSNBC's research and the objectivity of its news staff. Well, okay, it is possible that they haven't the slightest clue of experimental methods.

I can GUARANTEE that if you could judge all those raising children, the very top of the list would heavily favor the children raised by both NATURAL PARENTS… there can be no debate and it is as God intended.

As nearly as I can tell, the only value this 'study' has is to serve as an example of how not to conduct basic research. Although, to be fair, in the process of writing four graduate-level research papers, I've read dozens of other studies which were equally flawed – from bad research designs which were unable to isolate the variables at play, to inappropriate statistical methodologies applied to the analysis of the data, to bad data gathering techniques. MSNBC is clearly not alone in their lack of scholarly rigour in producing this study.

MSNBC has just lost a viewer, for this is such a far left liberal view that goes against every law of humanity and that of any behavioral counselor, Christian or not!
A child not only needs but is given the divine right of both a father and mother

a lesbian mother raising her teenage son in a same-sex relationship has more than motherly bias as a reason to shade the facts. She is also trying to justify her choice of lifestyle. To say that her children are faring worse than heterosexual couples would be to admit that her choice was wrong. MSNBC conducts research as well as they perform “in depth interviews” of liberal politicians and activists.
