OH NO! This Alleged Drunk Driver Launches Off This Freeway Upper Deck, Lands on Lower Deck [VIRAL VIDEO]

Impressive for a drunk driver. As one astute commenter said: When you aren’t sure if you should go Left or Right… choose one. Either one. But not into a light pole, exit sign and chain-link fence, before plummeting to a lower deck, nearly missing another driver. And the guy survived. There must be something magical about being a drunk driver – they seem to always walk away, no matter how much damage they cause and no matter how many people they kill. I guess suddenly he thought the road had moved or he could fly. And fly – briefly – he did.

From boston.com:

A 33-year-old East Boston man, allegedly under the influence, drove a pickup truck off Interstate 93 North’s upper deck, at the Route 1 off-ramp, early Sunday morning, landing on the expressway’s lower deck, according to State Police.

After the dramatic crash at about 6:25 a.m., Vannak Sao was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

Boston and Somerville firefighters extricated Sao from the truck. He was then taken to Massachusetts General Hospital after being stabilized.

Traffic cameras captured the airborne Toyota Tacoma, which is owned by a relative of Sao. Before the fall, the truck hit a light pole, exit sign, and chain-link fence.

No wonder this is viral. It’s unbelievable it happened in the first place, but that he ran into so much, fell onto the lower deck and survived is a miracle in itself. What is an even greater miracle is that he didn’t kill someone. His license should be revoked forever. With slick roads though, they might want to consider higher and sturdier barriers. Just sayin’. There’s no shortage of suicidal idiots out there and Boston is known for bad weather. Something like this will sure wake you up on your morning commute.
