And The Major Important Awesome Democrats Will Go Wild Announcement Is…..
Written By : William Teach

You read for this? You sure? Are your ready to be blown away in utter awe?

First, remember

The source tells CNN that Kaine will announce something that will excite Democrats across the country. Kaine’s event comes as Democrats face the difficult task of holding onto their majorities in the House and Senate this November.

What was your guess? Because whatever it was, you can just forget about it. You. Were. Not. Even. Close.

Welcome to the new Democrats.org. Today we’ve launched a new website and updated our look. We are focused on how Democrats can come together to win elections and move America forward. We are also proud of our party’s past. We’ve fought to make our country better—not for a select few, but for all Americans.

(blah blah blah)

And here is the big change! You ready? Gird your loins! (there is not inline more tag, so, scroll for effect)

Yeah, that’ll fire up the base. Because they “are much more than (a logo)”. It fired them up so much that the DU and most other left leaning sites have ignored it. There is almost nothing at any news site, including searches through Yahoo and Google news. And the comments at the post are truly amusing

  • I hope you didn’t pay much for that brand. The logo is rather dull, not much going on at all. The word “Democrats” is more interesting than the logo itself.
  • Is this the Major Announcement? what is so major about this? I absolutely dislike the new logo! couldn’t the graphics design department come up with something else?.. disappointed.
  • It looks like a convenience store logo, and one I would pass up at that. Please bring back Howard. He knows what it takes to win.
  • Horrible logo choice. It looks like a target. Or like a sub par grade circled on a school paper.
  • O.D. yeah, that’s sounds about right! (OK, that was probably a Righty chiming in)
  • Looks like a copyright symbol with a typo.
  • That “d” is for DEPRESSION, I gather! Recovery summer is morphing into FAIL FALL! ha ha ha. You DOLTS are toast. What a stupid logo, how many in your brain trust thought this embarrassment up? (OK, that was Amusing Bunny)

But, the winner is….

  • That looks like a graphic of the grade “D” with a circle around it. Terrible.

Heh!

Crossed at Pirate’s Cove. Follow me on Twitter @WilliamTeach. Re-Change 2010!

To me, as a gun/ bow owner, target shooter and hunter, it looks like a target. Well deer/ bear season is less than 2 months away where I live maybe the DNC is trying to remind me to purchase my hunting license (not that I need any reminder for that) ROTFL. This was the DNC big announcement today?????? again ROTFL, come on November.

Michelle malkin noted… turn the acorn logo sideways and remove the “nut cap”.. and you have the Democrats new logo… Fitting, no?

  • blkdragon

Has anybody checked copyright infringment, cause I'd guess the Circle D was a registered cattle brand.

      Me, Too!!!

  • baoxian

(A very self-referential post, but this avatar just keeps on giving) Geithner has been stirring the pot over Chinese currency manipulation again. It's just a cheap red-herring so the Democrats can play their populist game even though they've presided over the biggest looting of the American middle class in history.

“We're tough on China and we care about working Americans.” Bullcrap. Anything to try and scapegoat the collapsing economy before election season.

  • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

Dang I hope they didn't pay too much for that.

    • Don_cos

      I hope they did!

      ;0}

  • SteveCan

The 'revised' version of the 'new' logo can be seen here … http://twitpic.com/2ou9ch

  • Rose

    That makes a fabulous Target!

  • UFKA_Smithwick

Should be easy enough to spray a red minus sign after the D.

I know I'm being generous, grade inflation is a major problem and I'm working on getting it under control.

Seriously though, this is it? Those guys used to be masters at using icons to trick their mindless masses in to following them. Look at Obamas magic O, and the whole hammer/sickle thing and let's not forget the crooked cross. Catchy icons was one thing they excelled at.

This is pathetic. I do notice they're moving away from the hope and change moniker. Probably a good idea.

  • A Proud Infidel

UFKA is right, a red “minus” after it fits their description!!

“Deeds, not Words.” – Thomas Jefferson, if I'm correct.

All anyone has to do is look at their track record and history, and it speaks for itself!!

  • CoolCzech

    A “D” inside an “O”?

    “O.D.”???

    Or just, “Odd”?

Is that a Target with a D in the bulls eye position? How appropriate!

Or did they just award themselves a “D” letter grade? Where's the “Minus”?

Is is “D” for Deficit, or just plain old Depression?

The Democrats haven't picked such a conspicuous winner since that photo of Carter picking his nose, LOL!

  • Kingfisher

    Oooohh, aaahhhh!

    I'm simply awestruck, man!

    (rolls eyes)

    I think it's perfect: “D” for DORK!

Can you imagine some latte-drinking metrosexual walking around with a “D” t-shirt holding his hands together to make the “O” symbol*? Yup, there's a real babe magnet right there! (/sarc)

*The “O” symbol was reference by RWN awhile back.

  • Kingfisher

I hope you didn't pay much for that brand.

I'm sure it was paid with cash from the stimulus.

As for the “Change that matters” slogan. That has got to be the dumbest…marketing…slogan…ever! The Dems are distancing themselves from Obama so why would they want to have a slogan that is aligned with Obama?

  • Kingfisher

Well, at least we know that the Democrats have been working hard on the most important issues facing our country right now! (/major sarc)

Another 2-week vacation and six more rounds of golf should clear their minds for the next major task: finding more excuses for blaming Bush.

    1. I'm frankly surprised that they've clung to the “change” meme to use in their logo. By any reasonable assessment, “hope and change” and “change you can believe in” have seriously lost their cachet, as evidenced by the President's sinking approval numbers, Congresses abysmal approval figures, and the widespread public disdain for most of the signature legislative accomplishments wrought under the banner of “hope and change”. Usually when you're trying to turn the corner on a PR campaign which has soured, you do your very best to draw a firm “line in the sand” between the old campaign and the new one. You do that by avoiding any references to your previous failed campaign, and you do your best to push the intended audience in the direction of your new campaign. So when viewed from that perspective, I'm surprised that they've doubled down on the “change” meme.

The special elections of the past year and yesterday's primaries have showed pretty clearly that the “change” many people want is to boot any insiders out of DC. Why remind the electorate of that by clinging to that “change” meme?

    2. Silly us for having unreasonably thought that the Demicans actually had something of importance to say about policy/legislative direction when they set up the round of “teaser” announcements about this on Monday and Tuesday.

    3. I agree with those who've said that however much or little the Demicans paid for this new logo, it was too much. It's simplistic, and not in a good way, it's stark, harsh and visually unappealing, it looks like either a target or a bad grade, and lastly, an opposing political operative with a can of blue spray paint can make it look like a “D minus” in less than a second. Not that I'm suggesting any of you reading this do such a thing.

    • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

I'm stockin up on red spray paint already!

      • Kingfisher

I expect a surge of “D-” hacks just like the Obama/Joker/Socialism poster.

The Dems are asking for trouble.

    • UFKA_Smithwick

I think it's actually a perfect representation of the democrat party.

The country is falling apart, people are at record unemployment and demand leadership, so what does the democrat party do?

They assume a catchy PR campaign is the solution. Not better policies or intelligent leadership, oh no. All that is needed to make them loved again is a catchier slogan and more appealing icon!

And on top of that they do a terrible job at even this meager task.

Yep, perfect representation of the current democrat party.

  • T Asper

The “D” grade is actually an “F”, but being a government school, they didn't want to hurt their precious self esteem.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/OZBTYQK5MN5SKP6FA6KK4TJOQ4 MichaelAlan

LOL, not one lib talking point. Hahahahaha

  • Kingfisher

    John Hawkins,

A part of me feels sorry that so many upper-class, rich, elitist Democrats were forced to donate their hard-cheatedearned money for such a lame logo.

I move that RWN open a thread where we can submit a logo of our own as a show of tolerance and understanding. I realize that we're limited to text-based input but I think we can provide a link or a description of our recommended logo.
