Are You Ready For Another Round Of Comprehensive Immigration Reform?
Written By : William Teach

That’s right, campers, it looks like one of our wishy washiest flip floppery Senators, Lindsey Graham, might give the whole shamnesty thing yet another try: Senators look for immigration deal

Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) have rekindled their alliance on immigration reform, taking some early steps to test the political will for addressing the contentious issue this year.

Their call list hasn’t focused so much on House and Senate members who’ve been reliable pro-immigration votes in the past. Instead, they’re looking to a strange-bedfellows mix of conservative and liberal constituencies that can provide a “safety net” of support, as Graham put it, once the issue heats up.

“It’s in the infant stage,” Graham told POLITICO. “I don’t know what the political appetite is to do something.”

Oh, we have a political appetite to do something, Lindsey, just not what you want to do. We aren’t interested in discussing anything sort of pathway to citizenship until the borders are secured. Period. And, as we saw with the Arizona illegal immigration issue, most Americans prefer cracking down on illegals, not giving them a pathway to citizenship.

But, even if they could manage to get something passed in the Senate (remember, the DREAM Act failed by 5 votes), it will never make it through the GOP controlled house.

Democrats believe the November elections put a bit of a scare into Republicans, who failed to capture the Senate in part because of strong Latino turnout in California, Nevada, Colorado and Washington. If the GOP hopes to win the White House in 2012, it will need to reverse that trend.

Really? The GOP had a bit of a scare? Seriously? Any Republican who goes on to push “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” should be the one who is scared about being promoted to “unemployed political hack.”

What doofus would say, “I don’t know what the political appetite is to do something.” What a dumb Sunday question. Ask your SC constituents and follow their desires, Mr. Graham.

This issue is going nowhere. There’s absolutely zero chance the House signs off on any amnesty bill. There’s also zero chance that Obama and the Democrats will agree to any common-sense bill that doesn’t include magic-wand citizenship and mountains of handouts for illegals.

The Dems are more than willing to see the southwest degenerate into chaos and violence to try and leverage an all-or-nothing amnesty bill. The rule of law means nothing to them any more.

    • Don_cos

There’s never a zero chance. We have yet to see our newly elected reps tested. It wouldn’t be the first time a pol ran one way and then voted another.

Yeah, but I highly doubt Establishment Republicans are going to want to test the base before 2012. They sell out on an issue like amnesty and they give the Tea Party all the ammo they need to take over.

I don’t doubt there are still plenty of clueless RINOs that will try to sell us out by crossing the aisle, but it’s going to be more subtle.

I agree that it’s unlikely, but I don’t like to hold my breath.

  • conservativeminority

The GOP shouldn’t even care about those because it will play out by themselves. Both Nevada and California are in bad shape that it makes Lindsay Lohan look that much good. Colorado’s unemployment rate has been increasing for many, many consecutive months and is just a bit below average. While Washington’s has been increasing since August of last year–when it increased by over one point at the last update.

They all will play themselves out and all the GOP has to do is be smart and not stupid in how they run their campaigns. I thought Sharon Angle was gonna win, but she was still a rookie who made unforseen problems for her. So Harry just did what he did best as a Dem who’s been there long enough: win.

Is all about the borders for illegal immigration and nothing else. Americans could care less about other things. Yet I find it funny finally shutting about the issue instead of the border; which is the issue ironically.

Close the border? Then who’s going to mow your lawn and clean your house and fight your mindless wars?

    • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

I mow my own lawn, clean my own house, and fight my own wars, I’m not a liberal politician who relies on others to do my dirty work.

Thanks for giving us another set of completely wrong stereotypes that are more humerus than realistic. yYu include the class warfare card, along with the idea that conservatives payoff others to fight their wars, and even include the lie that illegals can serve in the military, not to mention attempting to belittle two perfectly valid wars as mindless. The only thing you missed was calling us all stupid!

      • Anonymous

That goes without saying. No conservatives use family connections to get National guard spots like your hero George Dubya

        • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

And you have proof of that? Since you know there are documents that specifically detail Bush’s request to be serve in Vietnam? (you can even see his signature and it matches his signature while POTUS and Governor.)

And if you think Bush is my hero, you’re dumber than your posts sound!

          • Mediumheadboy

Well, being a leftist, troll assumes that we love our pols as much as they love theirs. It doesn’t know any better and it’s clearly too stupid to be taught otherwise.

      • The real af_vet

You fight your own wars? The ones in your head I’ll bet.

You’re oh so offended at stereotypes cast your way, while you toss them out at other people like a pre-schooler at recess.

To quote to the fake af_vet, GFY.

To serve in the US military you either have to be a citizen or have a green card.

Currently about 40,000 non-Citizen greencard holders are serving in our armed forces.

This out of a total force of about 3 million (half active half reserve).

Meaning non-citizens make up a little over 1 percent of our total force.

Meaning that degenerates comment that illegals fight our wars for us is completely false, even if you count legal citizens as illegals for some reason.

Yes I do, something you’d know nothing about. And the only stereo-type I put out was about politicians(as in ONE). Way to read for comprehension. If you’re going to call me a pre-schooler at least do us all a favor, child, and base your complaint on facts.

And to quote me: FOAD, child.

    • Don_cos

My sons and I mow the lawn. My whole family cleans the house. Our wars will be fought by those I trained before retiring after 28 years of service. Just because you can’t take care of yourself doesn’t mean that I can’t.

‘who’s going to mow your lawn and clean your house and fight your mindless wars?’

I xeriscape, my wife and I clean our own home and illegal aliens don’t fight our wars for us. Jeez, what are you, retarded or something?

        Yes!

We already knew you were retarded, pizza boy. But thanks for reminding us.

And Petey tries out another handle, LOL.

If I’m so retarded how come I’m running circles around you?

Since AMNESTY-JOHN mccain had to run for re-election last November and dupe AZ voters with his $25 MILLION re-election campaign of lies to give him another six years (OMG!), graham has been filling in for AMNESTY-JOHN on the AMNESTY-FOR-ILLEGALS issue.

REMEMBER: In the underbelly of the US Senate (specifically, at the end of the lower intestine) is where we find THE SLIMEBAG SIX despicable, rino traitors who will continue to support d-crat socialist issues, and everybody knows who they are: AMNESTY-JOHN mccain, scott brown, collins, snowe, murCOWski and graham.

That’s part of the “hit list” for all American patriots to follow in future elections.

Do we really need immigration reform? Why not simply work on enforcing existing laws.

    • TheDarkKnight

Because existing laws are boring and don’t mobilize the base… besides, if they keep the masses ignorant then it becomes easier to get them to follow the ruse…

  • Eatme

Wouldn’t that be a demotion? Or just a firing?

    Article 1 Section 8:
“To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions”

    Article 1, Section 9:
The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

    Article 4, Section 4:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion…”

This is just never going away, until something is done and I fear anything they come up with will just suck.
