Atheists Trying to Drum Up People to Sue over God Mentioned on Our Money

Apparently atheists are now shopping around for someone that will help them sue the federal government for having “In God We Trust” printed on our money.

Attorney and atheist Michael Newdow is looking for anyone[1] who will claim to have been “harmed” by what’s printed on our money.

According to Newdow, families with children are especially welcome:

“What we need mostly are families with minor children since the Supreme Court has indicated that it is more likely to uphold constitutional (and, presumably, statutory) principles when children are involved.”

Newdow says using the Establishment Clause to bring the action has been unsuccessful, so his group plans to use the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA):

“Although the arguments demonstrating that the godly inscriptions violate the Establishment Clause will again be raised, the RFRA claim will (for the first time) be the lead argument in each case.”

Newdow says it’s wrong for any government to force people to carry a message that violates their “religious ideals.”

Do you believe anyone is actually hurt by “in God We Trust” on our money?
