Clinton’s Legacy For The Children: The Clinton-Lewinsky Effect

It seems that President Clinton’s legacy involves a bit more than tired cigar jokes and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. CBS News reports:

Most young adults agree penile-vaginal intercourse is sex, but less than one in five think that oral-genital contact counts as “having sex,” according to a 2007 survey of undergraduate college students.

This attitude toward oral sex represents a dramatic and sudden shift in thinking since 1991, when a similar survey found that nearly twice as many young adults (about 40%) would classify oral-genital contact as sex.

Researchers point to former President Clinton’s infamous statement, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,” as the pivotal turning point in society’s changing views about oral sex. The attitude shift has been dubbed the “Clinton-Lewinsky” effect.

“Like President Clinton, adolescents and young adults often interpret these words with a degree of latitude, depending on whether they want to maintain an image of being sexually experienced or inexperienced,” Jason D. Hans and colleagues at the University of Kentucky, Lexington write in their report, “Sex Redefined: The Reclassification of Oral-Genital Contact.”

Heck of a job, Bubba! Thanks a bunch, creep. It’s bad enough when the left redefines words, now they are redefining acts. And passing it on to our children.

What’s worse, if you read the entire article, it is the females who are more likely to not consider it sex. More males considered all aspects a part of actual sex; perhaps because it increases their bragging rights? Likely so. But, perhaps also because they aren’t actively encouraged by Feminists to empower themselves via their bodies and sexual acts, thus making the acts themselves almost meaningless.

See, it’s the Clinton-Lewinsky effect and the Feminist effect, I’d say. I seem to recall the National Organization for Women (N.O.W.) and every self-avowed feminist defending Bill Clinton and his “it depends on what the definition of “is” is”.:  Great empowerment you taught our daughters! Oh, no big whoop. Just make sure to move fast enough to avoid any messy dresses, huh, feminists?

I explained this attitude, whereby they damage young women with delusional ideas of:  “sexual empowerment” in my article “Feminists Mute on Slut TV, Yet We Have Them To Thank For It.” The same applies to this situation. They take actual pride in promiscuous behavior and they believe that women are “empowered” by being sex machines on television shows where the camera men need to wear hazmat suits, the house furniture needs to be covered in plastic and you need a prescription for Valtrex upon completion of your stint there.

This is what they are teaching the younger generation of women. As I said in the earlier article:

Their encouraging of “sexual empowerment”, their “it’s okay, just use birth control and do whatever feels good” lifestyles have dehumanized women. By encouraging women to focus on sexual “equality”, they’ve taken away any requirement that women be treated as something other than a sexual toy. Why would anyone respect you as a human being, if you don’t respect yourself?

The CBS article never mentions any of that, of course. But it did try to pin some blame on abstinence only programs:

A surge in abstinence-only education and sex education programs that focus primarily on vaginal-penile intercourse also may play a role in the disassociation of oral-genital stimulation from sex, the authors say.

Nice straw man. But, an actual abstinence-only program should, you know, teach abstinence. It shouldn’t convince people that sexual acts are NOT sexual acts.

By their redefining of words and by allowing their agendas to drive absolutely everything, the Left has once again demeaned and dehumanized people, particularly women. Even the most intimate human acts have become almost meaningless and have become, instead, acts of ego/power seeking rather than love.

Personally, I’ll choose to not be “empowered” and will instead choose real meaning. And that is what I’ll teach my daughter.
